About me and my therapy practice
Are you hiding behind a brave face? Do you seem calm and in control to others, yet inside you’re living with anxiety, low self-esteem, or the weight of past experiences? I became a therapist after a long career in the arts, which gave me a deep understanding of the inner worlds we keep hidden and the ways we try to hold ourselves together. Many people spend years quietly carrying their struggles, supporting everyone else but rarely feeling heard, understood, or at ease.
Perhaps you notice feeling tense or on high alert, even when nothing obvious is wrong. Or maybe you lose track of time, caught up in complicated thoughts or memories. I know how exhausting and lonely it can be, trying to keep going and cope on your own.
In a calm, compassionate space, I offer warmth, sensitivity and understanding to help you begin to untangle what feels overwhelming or confusing. Together, we can explore the anxiety, trauma, depression, or relationship problems that have been hard to voice and always in a way that feels safe and manageable for you.
My approach is integrative, drawing on psychodynamic and person-centred principles, and shaped around your unique needs. We might begin by finding steadier ways to manage anxiety, trauma, or emotional overwhelm in the present. When it feels right, we may also gently connect what’s happening now with earlier experiences, helping you come to terms with the past and shift the patterns that keep you stuck. Whatever we explore, my aim is to help you find clarity, balance, and a greater sense of control in your life.
However long you’ve been holding things together, you don’t have to keep doing it alone. I’ll be alongside you with care, steadiness, and genuine understanding, helping you move towards confidence, self-worth and lasting change.
