About me and my therapy practice
Are you struggling beneath the appearance of coping, self-reliance or even creativity? I became a therapist after a long career in the arts and I help people with anxiety, relationship difficulties, trauma, low self-esteem and emotional overwhelm.
Many of the people I work with function well in their day-to-day lives but privately carry far more than those around them realise. Beneath the surface there may be self-criticism, grief, anxiety, or a persistent sense that they may be too much, or not enough, and they have to manage everything alone.
Therapy
I know how exhausting it can be to feel that you have to keep difficult experiences to yourself or make sense of them on your own. I want to offer a relationship where you don’t have to do either. Together, with care and compassion, we can look at whatever is troubling you, allowing thoughts and feelings to emerge in their own time, without pressure to explain or justify. With warmth and kindness, I will be with you, however difficult things feel, as we take time to understand and make room for everything you’re going through.
As our work develops, clients often find that they become less hard on themselves and more able to trust their own thoughts and feelings. Relationships can begin to feel less effortful, emotions less overwhelming, and it may become easier to recognise what you need and speak more openly about it.
My approach
My background in the arts continues to shape the way I work as an integrative therapist. I am comfortable with complexity, sensitivity, and emotional intensity, without needing to simplify your experience or move too quickly towards solutions.
You do not need to arrive with the right words or a neatly explained story. We can begin wherever you are and work at a pace that feels manageable.
Over time, many of my clients find they feel more at ease with themselves, their relationships, and the life they want to lead.
