About me and my therapy practice
Are you hiding behind a brave face?
You might appear to be coping to others while privately struggling with anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, difficult relationships, or the effects of past experiences. From the outside, you may seem to be doing ok, while inside it鈥檚 a constant effort to cope on your own. Many people I work with are used to minimising their difficulties or carrying on alone, long after it鈥檚 begun to take a toll.
Before training as a therapist, I had a long career in the arts. That background shapes how I help clients explore things that can feel complex, uncertain, or hard to put into words. You won鈥檛 need to explain yourself neatly or 鈥済et things right鈥. There will be space to speak in your own way, at your own pace, including the parts that feel unclear or hard to sit with. You鈥檒l be met by someone who can stay with you, however difficult things have been, without rushing or turning away. You won鈥檛 be judged or expected to tidy up your feelings.
My approach is integrative and shaped around your unique needs. We might begin by finding steadier ways to manage anxiety, stress, or emotional overwhelm in the present. When it feels right, we may also gently connect what鈥檚 happening now with earlier experiences, helping you understand the patterns that keep you stuck. Whatever we explore, my aim is to help you understand yourself more fully and feel more at ease in your life.
As we progress, many clients notice a growing sense of self-worth, understanding, and choice, feeling less caught in old unhelpful patterns, and more able to make life choices that support how they want to live now.
The First Steps
I know getting in touch can feel worrying, especially if you鈥檙e used to coping on your own. You鈥檙e welcome to email me, send a text, or contact me directly through this directory if you鈥檇 like to ask a question, check availability, or take that first step.
Our first meeting will be a free 20鈥30 minute consultation and is a gentle starting point with no pressure.
