About me and my therapy practice
In our sessions, I pay attention to both what is spoken and how it is held in the body—through breath, posture, movement, and silence. Depending on your needs, our work may involve talking, breath awareness, visualisation, or gentle movement-based exploration. These options are always introduced carefully and only where appropriate.
My approach is relational and embodied. I focus on the dynamics that emerge between us, and how we can use them to make sense of patterns, reactions, and needs. Together, we’ll explore what feels difficult or confusing at a pace that feels manageable, aiming to build clarity, stability, and greater internal cohesion.
My work is informed by a range of perspectives that recognise how experiences, especially those involving unmet needs, misattunement, or power imbalance, shape how we relate to others and to ourselves. I draw from attachment theory, interpersonal neurobiology, and body-based approaches that help us understand how trauma is held in the nervous system. I’m also influenced by survivor-led thinking and by principles from yoga psychology such as non-coercion, honesty, and letting go of what is no longer useful. These frameworks help guide a therapeutic process that is collaborative, respectful, and responsive to your individual pace and needs.
Practice description
We’ll begin with an initial consultation to explore your needs, expectations, and whether my approach feels like a good fit for you. This process usually takes one or two sessions, allowing space to assess what therapeutic support may be most appropriate and to give you a sense of what it’s like to work with me.
Each session, including the initial consultation, lasts 50 minutes. My fee for face-to-face sessions in Wimbledon is £80. If we decide to proceed, we will agree on a regular weekly appointment at a set time.
I take care to assess any potential risks or limitations related to my approach. While I aim to adapt my way of working to meet your specific needs, there may be times when a different therapeutic model—or a different therapist—may be more appropriate. In such cases, I will discuss this openly and support you in finding a practitioner who may be better suited to your current needs. I hold this consideration as part of my ethical responsibility as a psychotherapist working with members of the public.
I am committed to ongoing professional development and safe, reflective practice. I regularly undertake clinical supervision, continued professional development (CPD), workshops, and other self-reflective and reflexive activities as part of my personal and professional growth.
If you would like to book an initial consultation or have any questions, I’m happy to arrange a twenty minute phone call, free of charge, to help you decide if this next step feels right for you.
