About me and my therapy practice

Hello, my name is Emily, and I am an Integrative Psychotherapist. I believe the therapeutic relationship is central to healing, so I am committed to nurturing that connection with you. I believe the quality of our relationship with ourselves and others greatly impacts our mental and physical wellbeing.

Therapy can be a daunting process to begin, whether it鈥檚 your first time or you have previous experience. I consider myself to be welcoming, relatable, and deeply committed to your progression. I know that reading countless profiles can be overwhelming and confusing, so please feel free to drop me an email and we can arrange an informal, free-of-charge 15-minute video call to see whether we鈥檙e a good fit.

Developing safety and trust can take time, so I work in a warm and collaborative way with my clients, at a pace that suits them. To me, therapy is a confidential space where we can explore what it means to be human together. We will embrace your strengths and challenges with compassion and curiosity. While honesty and self-reflection can be confronting, we will also find the humour in our (extremely human!) contradictions and complexities.

Practice description

The clients I work with most often want to explore how their past is impacting their present, examining which inherited values and beliefs truly fit who they are, and letting go of what isn鈥檛 actually theirs to carry anymore. This often means sitting with multiple (and sometimes conflicting) truths. While this can be a painful process, I am here to guide and support you with steadiness and compassion.

I understand how the coping mechanisms that once helped us survive can over time begin to limit how we experience ourselves and our lives. In our work together, we鈥檒l gently explore which beliefs (often unconscious) may be running the show and keeping you stuck. For example, 鈥淚鈥檓 too much鈥 or 鈥淚鈥檒l never be good enough鈥.

Most importantly, my goal is to help you cultivate a more fulfilling relationship with yourself that feels authentic to you, rather than a version of you that might be more influenced by external people and factors. From my experience, this supports the development of self-awareness, so you can move forward with a greater sense of balance, self-compassion, and intention. Those moments when something is reflected back to you and it just clicks, leaving you feeling deeply seen and understood, is what I love most about therapy. Think "more being鈥 rather than "more doing鈥.

If this resonates please send me an enquiry and we can connect!
