About me and my therapy practice
Focus: Connection, Empathy, and the Therapeutic Journey
Life can feel incredibly heavy when you’re navigating a world that doesn’t seem designed for your unique brain, or when the weight of past trauma and difficult habits makes every day a struggle. Whether you are a parent seeking a gentle, understanding space for your child, a young person trying to find your way, or an adult looking to process deep-seated trauma, I am here to walk that road alongside you.
I believe that therapy is most effective when it is a true partnership. You are the expert on your own life, and my role is to provide a warm, non-judgmental, and neuro-affirming environment where you can finally feel seen and heard. I don’t see you as a list of symptoms or a diagnosis; I see a whole person with unique strengths and a story that deserves to be told.
My passion lies in helping people reclaim their sense of self. We will work together to move past the "masking" and the survival strategies that might have helped you get through the day, but are now leaving you exhausted. In our sessions, your identity is celebrated, and your experiences are validated. We won't just talk about the challenges; we will explore new ways for you to feel regulated, empowered, and safe in your own skin. This is a space where you can be exactly who you are, without the pressure to "fit in" or be "fixed."
Practice description
Focus: Professional Expertise, Modalities, and Specialisms
I am a Â鶹Դ´ Accredited Psychotherapist with a degree in Psychology and Counselling. My practice is built on a foundation of clinical excellence and a commitment to neuro-affirming care. I specialize in working with children, young people, and adults, with a particular focus on Neurodivergence (ADHD and Autism), Substance Misuse, and complex mental health presentations including PTSD and Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD).
My therapeutic approach is integrative, allowing me to tailor every session to the specific needs of the individual. At the core of my work is a Person-Centred philosophy, ensuring that the therapeutic relationship remains the primary vehicle for change. To support this, I draw on:
CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy): To help identify and reshape thought patterns that lead to distress.
DBT (Dialectical Behaviour Therapy) Skills: Particularly effective for emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and managing the "stormy" emotions often associated with BPD and trauma.
Trauma-Informed Care: Ensuring a safe pace for processing PTSD and past experiences without re-traumatisation.
Substance Misuse Support: Offering a compassionate, harm-reduction focused approach to addiction and recovery.
In my practice, I prioritise accessibility. For neurodivergent clients, this means a flexible communication style, sensory awareness, and a move away from traditional "compliance-based" therapy toward true self-advocacy. Whether we are working on emotional stability, recovery from substance use, or navigating a new diagnosis, my goal is to provide you with a practical "toolbox" of strategies backed by professional, accredited expertise.
