About me and my therapy practice
Many of the adults I work with find themselves caught in cycles of anxiety, overthinking, or self-doubt. It can feel exhausting to navigate your own difficult feelings and endless self-criticism, while tirelessly trying to please others. This can feel especially familiar if you have ADHD (diagnosed or self-recognised) where emotions, rejection worries, or overthinking can show up more strongly.
Clients tell me that being genuinely heard by someone outside their family or friends, and receiving honest, thoughtful responses, rather than what they expect to hear, is one of the most helpful aspects of working with me.
Together, we explore the patterns that show up in your relationships, such as over-accommodating others and pushing your own needs into the background. The ways you’ve learned to stay safe and connected may no longer be serving you. I support my clients as they learn to respond more authentically in their relationships and ease the self-doubt, overthinking, and inner criticism that clouds their confidence.
Practice description
I have a degree in Integrative-Relational counselling, and my therapeutic approach is tailored to your needs and goals. You may not have a clear idea about what you would like to work on and that’s a completely normal place to start. Our work will explore where you’re feeling stuck or experiencing distress, this can often be rooted in past experiences which we can process together, at your pace. I support you to develop healthier ways of coping, including setting boundaries with others to help strengthen your relationship with yourself and others.
My goal is to encourage you towards greater self-understanding, acceptance, and belief in your own capabilities. When clients conclude their counselling sessions with me, we discuss what feels different for them. Clients have found that they feel better resourced to face life’s challenges, more confident and grounded.
Supporting Adults with ADHD:
I have undertaken specialist training to therapeutically support adults with ADHD. This can be particularly beneficial for those who have received a late diagnosis and are making sense of what this means for them.
I am also a certified ADHD coach and offer coaching programmes to support adults reach their goals and potential. ADHD coaching can provide support with feelings, function and focus. I offer online body-doubling sessions which provide gentle accountability and supports executive function.
Counselling sessions are offered on a weekly, one-to-one basis for adults in the Epsom area or online. Please enquire for more details about ADHD coaching and body-doubling for adults.
My first session
Starting therapy can feel daunting and I feel it’s important to acknowledge that, together, right at the start. I find it helpful to offer a free 20-minute phone or Zoom call to help you decide whether working together feels right.
The first counselling session is an opportunity to explore how things are for you right now, in a calm, unhurried way. There’s no expectation to share everything at once or to know exactly what you want to talk about. We’ll go at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
We’ll usually talk about what has brought you to therapy, what feels most important right now, and what you’re hoping for from our work together. I will ask some questions to help me understand your experiences, and you’re always welcome to pause or take things slowly. By the end, we’ll have a sense of whether working together feels like a good fit.
