About me and my therapy practice

A psychotherapist offering therapy sessions for adults in Central London, through my private practice in Islington EC1V. I work with clients both short-term (up to 12 weeks) and long-term, either face-to-face or online.

I believe the therapeutic relationship between client and therapist is crucial. I aim to ensure therapy is a warm, open, and imaginative place tailored to your needs. It can be daunting to figure out who the right therapist is for you & so I offer a free introductory session so we can get a sense of each other & decide if working together might be useful to you.

Therapy can be a rare opportunity to shut out the noise of everyday life, grapple with emotional challenges, and decide what’s important to you. By exploring what genuinely matters, clients may create clarity and awareness, and perhaps this can offer the possibility of change.

I believe that clients should feel certain that their experience of therapy is both ethical and confidential. I am an accredited member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), the British Association for Counsellors & Psychotherapists (Â鶹ԭ´´), & the Society for Existential Analysis (SEA). I adhere to the highest code of standards for ethical practice. I trained in psychotherapy at Regent’s University, where I received an MA followed by a PGDip in Existential Psychotherapy. I am registered with the ICO and am fully GDPR compliant.

Practice description

My existential therapeutic approach is informed by philosophical thinking and focuses on my client’s subjective experience of their life and how they attach meaning to it. This is a collaborative process that allows us to explore who you are, how you got here, and what’s shaping your approach to life moving forward.

Our story can be important, meaningful and deeply personal. But sometimes, the story we create, or perhaps have been given, about who we are, how life is, or how we relate to others, no longer serves us. The existential approach attempts to describe & illuminate your unique way of living and to explore & perhaps gain new perspectives on the values, relationships & choices that matter most.

After the free introductory session, if you’d like to proceed, we will agree on a plan for regular weekly sessions. We can discuss our availability & when to schedule your session (either in-person or online) as it will take place on the same day & time each week. We will also be able to agree on issues you might like to address & what we should prioritise.

My first session

I offer a free 30-minute online session so we can get a sense of each other and decide if working together might be useful. This will be an opportunity for you to outline what brings you to therapy & ask any of the questions you may have.
