Practice description
My philosophy
I believe that past experiences impact how we are as a person and relate to others in the present, and that is through relationships that we heal. I aim to offer a new relational experience by building a genuine and trusting relationship that gives you the space to connect to yourself more authentically. I focus on exploring your feelings, needs, thoughts, and experiences, to increase your self-awareness which I believe can call forth positive change in your life.
I work holistically; I consider the mind, emotions, body, and spirit as a whole.
My approach
As an Integrative Relational Psychotherapist, I focus on the healing aspect of the counselling relationship.
My approach is attachment and trauma informed, understanding how early experiences and past trauma shape your current thoughts, feelings and behaviours.
My therapeutic style is is collaborative, curious, intuitive, creative and explorative.
I draw from various modalities considering your uniqueness as a person:
*Psychodynamic therapy: Exploring how your past impacts your present, particularly around early relationships and past experiences.
*Humanistic therapy: self-exploration and personal growth to nurture your perception of yourself.
-Person centred: we all have the potential to grow.
-Existential: exploring the meaning of life, purpose and authenticity.
-Gestalt: awareness of the here-and-now, so you can be present with your thoughts and emotions.
*Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): understanding the link between your thoughts, feelings and behaviours.
*Somatic and Mindfulness-based approaches: the body's responses and sensations when you experience emotions.
*Transpersonal approach: the spiritual aspects of human experience to access deeper layers of yourself beyond the conscious mind (Inner child work, reparenting, dreamwork, visual imagery).
Couples therapy
Focus on how relational dynamics impact the relationship, fostering self awareness, communication and conflict resolution.
