About me and my therapy practice

Many of my clients are capable, caring adults who have spent years coping alone, prioritising others. They often feel stuck in patterns of self-doubt, difficult relationships or emotional overwhelm despite appearing to manage on the surface. If you are someone who has spent a long time adapting yourself to suit others and have lost touch with yourself, I believe I can help.

I understand how past experiences can continue to shape relationships, confidence, identity and emotional wellbeing long after the events themselves. By bringing those links into awareness, in a supportive, non-judgemental space, you can begin to understand their impact and decide what changes feel right to you.

Specialist Areas:

  • Relationship/Family Difficulties - I support individuals experiencing challenges within relationships, including communication problems, conflict, attachment issues, and recurring emotional patterns. Therapy can help you better understand how old wounds may be influencing how you relate to yourself and others.
  • Parents and Carers - Caring for others can feel emotionally demanding. Your own needs can become overlooked. I offer time to step outside of your caring role to focus on your own wellbeing, feelings, and emotional needs.
  • Life Transitions, Menopause & Midlife - Periods of change can bring uncertainty, loss, emotions, and questions about identity or direction. I support clients navigating significant life transitions with compassion and understanding.
  • Counselling for Men - I offer a relaxed, confidential space for men who may be finding it difficult to talk about emotions, vulnerability, or personal struggles. We can work at a pace that feels manageable, without pressure or expectation.

You may be feeling disconnected from yourself, or struggling with thoughts and feelings linked to the past. Perhaps you find yourself stuck in painful patterns, questioning your self-worth, or carrying feelings you have managed alone for a long time.

Practice description

Therapy can offer a space to slow down, make sense of what you are experiencing, and begin to move towards life with greater clarity and self-understanding.

My approach is warm, compassionate, and non-judgemental. I aim to offer a safe and supportive relationship where you feel able to explore whatever feels important to you, at your own pace.

How Can I Help?

Together, we can explore the thoughts, feelings, experiences, and patterns that may be keeping you stuck, with care and curiosity rather than pressure or judgement. While I cannot change what has happened in your past, therapy can help you develop a different perspective in order to reconnect with yourself. Through letting go of the past, you will be released from negative self-talk and ideas and standards that no longer serve you. When you are able to understand that any notion of feeling like an outsider was never about your worth, it becomes easier to accept yourself and value who you are. The counselling relationship is somewhere you can be yourself, without masking or compromising who you are or what you want from life.

My Approach

I work in a person-centred way, focusing on understanding your experiences from your perspective, without judgement or expectation. I provide a supportive therapeutic relationship where you can reflect openly, process your experiences, and find your own way forward.

I offer a warm, grounded space where you can speak openly and feel heard, supported, and accepted as you are.

Training, qualifications & experience

I qualified as a person-centred counsellor through the University of Warwick and have been working with adults in Warwickshire as a counsellor/psychotherapist for seven years. I have continued my professional development and maintain registered membership of the British Association of Counselling Practitioners (Â鶹ԭ´´), offering a professional and compassionate setting for those I support.

My first session

Our first session would involve contracting, getting to know each other and discussing what you hope to achieve through working together.  I endeavour to put your mind at ease and help you to feel comfortable in the setting and would be guided by you in terms of where we start.

Building trust and emotional safety is at the heart of my work. I understand that beginning counselling can feel daunting, and finding the right therapist is important. If you recognise yourself in my profile, I invite you to reach out for a no-obligation initial phone conversation. We can discuss what brings you to counselling and explore whether working together feels right for you.
