About me and my therapy practice

Hi I'm Sally. I am a fully qualified and experienced counsellor with a private practice in Barry, Vale of Glamorgan. I provide one to one counselling for children, young people and adults - I offer both face to face sessions from my therapy room in Barry as well as online sessions.

I understand that finding the right counsellor is so important and this is the first step to having someone who will walk beside you on your journey. I will provide a safe, confidential space for you to explore the issues you want to bring to counselling. I will tailor your sessions to meet your unique needs but will always endeavour to ensure that you feel heard, understood and supported.  As a person-centred counsellor I offer a non-judgemental, empathetic environment in order that my clients can explore their own feelings and experiences.

I have worked with Cruse Bereavement and therefore am trained in grief/bereavement therapy.  I have also worked as a school counsellor for a number of years and so have valid experience of working with the issues that children and young people have to try to cope with.  However, I also work with adult clients - particularly those trying to deal with bereavement, anxiety and self esteem issues.

I am registered with the Â鶹ԭ´´ and work within the guidelines of their Ethical Framework.

My practice is registered with the ICO and is complaint with GDPR regulations.

Sessions last for up to an hour and are usually held weekly, at a mutually agreed day and time.

Practice description

I understand that finding the right counsellor is so important and this is the first step to having someone who will walk beside you on your journey. I will provide a safe, confidential space for you to explore the issues you want to bring to counselling. I will tailor your sessions to meet your unique needs but will always endeavour to ensure that you feel heard, understood and supported. I am not here to judge or criticise - I do not diagnose, nor do I advise.

If you choose to work with me, you as the client will set the agenda and decide what you want to use your sessions for - they are your sessions, not mine! We will work at the pace that you feel comfortable with.

We will work together to establish a therapeutic relationship and in this environment we can explore a way forward.

As a member of the Â鶹ԭ´´ I am committed to continuing my professional development and regularly engage in courses to advance my knowledge base.
