About me and my therapy practice

Welcome to my profile. I’m Nicky (she/her), and I hope this gives you a sense of how I work and what I can offer you as a client. I believe everyone deserves the chance to be listened to and supported as they navigate life’s challenges. My aim is to provide a steady, compassionate space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings, gain insight, and connect more deeply with who you are and how you relate to others.

I know that opening up isn’t always easy. My hope is that you’ll find this a place where you can do so at your own pace. Our work together will be non judgmental and reliable. I won’t give you advice or tell you what to do, but I will walk alongside you as you consider different options, make decisions, or simply try to make sense of what’s happening in your life.

I’ve worked within charities, the NHS Talking Therapies service, and employee assistance programmes. I’ve supported people experiencing anxiety, low mood, work related stress, relationship difficulties, loss and bereavement. I also have particular experience working with LGBTQI+ clients, people who feel suicidal, and those going through significant life transitions. I don’t believe in quick fixes or magic solutions — but I do believe that having someone to talk things through with, who supports you in finding ways to cope, regain a sense of control, or rediscover meaning and hope, can be transformative.

I offer counselling online or by telephone. You can choose to work with me for a short period or over a longer time — it’s entirely up to you, and something we can review as we go. In our first session, we’ll explore what brings you to counselling and what you’d like to be different. I’ll ask some questions about your life now, your past experiences, and how you’ve coped with things before.

Practice description

If you believe we could work well together, please reach out for a free initial chat via phone, email, or text message. During this conversation, we can discuss your goals for counselling. If you decide to schedule an appointment, we can usually arrange it within a week. Each session lasts 50 minutes and is online or via telephone.

There is no minimum or maximum number of sessions required. Once you contact me and we've established what you want from counselling, I will email you some information detailing my confidentiality policy, data storage practices, complaints procedure, and everything you need to know about your sessions. If you're happy with these, we can then arrange your first appointment.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
