About me and my therapy practice

I offer a warm, relaxed and judgment free space for people to explore themselves and their difficulties. My goal is always to cultivate a therapeutic relationship with my clients that supports and facilitates long lasting change and that benefits all areas of their life. Therapy offers a confidential and safe space to say what can feel unsayable and a unique relationship with someone impartial and highly trained to support you through difficult times.

As a Counselling Psychologist I have studied and am trained in multiple models of therapy and I integrate these to best suit the needs of my clients. Primarily I draw on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, including thirs-wave approaches (CFT, ACT),  Psychodynamic therapy and Body-oriented psychotherapies that include guided meditation, mindful movement and breath work. I work collaboratively with clients to understand what their goals and expectations are of therapy and I then formulate a treatment plan that I feel will help them meet those goals. I usually recommend a minimum of 10-20 sessions depending on what their goals and presenting problems are, with regular check-ins throughout and review at the end to see whether you want to continue.

I am registered with the Health Care Professions Council and am recognised by many of the main Insurers, i.e. Axa, Vitality etc. Please ask me for more details.

My first session

The first session is like an assessment. I will ask you questions about your presenting problems, your goals for therapy and gather some background information about your past experiences of therapy, mental and physical health history, family background and your current life, including assessing any form of risk. This will also be an opportunity for you to ask me any questions you have about the therapeutic process, expectations and confidentiality.
