About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I'm Carly.
I'm a psychodynamic therapist with a history in Person centred counselling.
Working in an empathetic, safe, non-judgemental space, yet keeping it real, honest and down to earth is what you can expect from a therapeutic relationship with me. I welcome you to explore whatever issues are concerning you, and whatever comes up along the way. I've got you.
I work flexibly and creatively to suit your individual needs. This can include working with art suppies, clay and any other objects that help you express yourself and feelings, as well as traditional talking therapy.
I work with adults and young people in all areas.
I have extensive experience in Domestic violence and sexual violence, parenting struggles and womens rights. Men, please dont be put off, you are welcome here!
LGBTQIA+ experienced and supporter.
I am qualified in a number of subjects up to Bachelors Degree level including my Psychodynamic counselling and counselling Children and young people Diplomas, and have completed a number of certificates in subjects such as self harm awareness, Education and training, working with survivors of sexual abuse and rape, safeguarding children and more....and I am committed to my continual professional development.
I am currently studying a Masters level in psychosexual and relationship psychotherapy- finishing in 2027, however, later in the year I will be looking for some clients as part of my course hours.
Practice description
Access to counselling is important to me, I try to make it as inclusive as possible and understand it can feel like an unjustifiable expense- where as its actually essential to a lot of people. So I do have some reduced rate slots available for those on low income. Counselling can also be difficult to schedule in around work and family life. This is why I offer evenings and limited Saturday morning sessions (Saturdays full price only).
I offer face to face sessions at my private and peaceful space in Burton on Trent.
I also offer online sessions.
My first session
I offer a free 20 minute consultation phone call where I will do an assessment and we can see if we feel we are suited to work together.
Please feel free to email me with any enquiries, questions or to book a consultation.
