About me and my therapy practice

Starting therapy can be a daunting process, especially if we come from marginalised communities in the broader culture. I offer a warm and compassionate space for my clients. My focus is to support you with your presenting issues, like anxiety, or a nervous system which finds it hard to feel settled in the aftermath of traumatic experiences.

As a non-binary, person of colour, I welcome people from a wide range of backgrounds in my practice. I work holistically with my clients, helping them reclaim their power and strength in a culture which may tell them otherwise.

I have been trained in a variety of therapeutic modalities, and I believe that healing happens when we talk, as well as work with the pain stored in our bodies. I use mindfulness, and gently resource my clients, so that the inner sense of safety in the body allows you to experience and integrate parts of yourself which previously felt unreachable.

Therapy is a profound process of self-discovery, reclaiming inner-joy, wonder, and finding sustained healing.

Practice description

My experience includes working with Wellbeing Scotland to support clients suffering from trauma, including those dealing with chronic anxiety, domestic abuse, and bereavement. Additionally, I have worked as a voluntary counsellor at LGBT Health and Wellbeing, supporting a diverse range of clients.

I currently work with the organisation African Rainbow Family, where I have support refugee clients process their trauma, come to terms with the grief of migration, and find renewed hope.

Within my private practice, I have supported LGBTQIA+ clients on issues around familial acceptance, loss, sexual abuse, and forging a stable identity in the aftermath of traumatic events. More specifically, I have supported QTBIPOC and transgender clients process difficult experiences and find their inner strength and beauty.

I believe that therapy is a deep form of self-care, where we get to meet ourselves again. I am deeply passionate about working with clients who are looking for a therapist with a shared lived experience and understanding.

My first session

The first session is a consultation which takes place on zoom. This lasts thirty minutes and is free of charge.

This will allow you to get a sense of me, and see if we could be a good fit. I create a warm environment, and ask questions which help aid this process.
