About me and my therapy practice
Hello, my name is Laura. I am a fully qualified counsellor, and I am passionate about supporting women in overcoming anxiety, depression, low self-esteem and other concerns. I strive to support women to live happier, more fulfilling lives.
As someone who deeply believes in a holistic, person-centred approach, I work collaboratively with clients and provide a compassionate, warm, empathetic and non-judgmental space. A therapeutic relationship is key to fostering positive change and I am here to support you on your journey. I provide active and compassionate listening, allowing you to feel heard and valued, giving you the time to unravel any thoughts, feelings, behaviours, or navigate difficult circumstances you're facing. If you are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or low, you don't have to face it alone.
I have had the privilege of working with a wide range of clients, including domestic abuse survivors, neurodiverse individuals, individuals dealing with grief and loss and young people, allowing me to bring a wealth of knowledge and empathy to our sessions.

Practice description
Counselling is a time for you to talk through your concerns in a safe and confidential space. To support you whilst you work through how you are feeling and gain a better understanding of yourself and the difficulties you are facing, this will enable you to gain greater control. People come for counselling for many reasons but often because they feel worried and upset about things that have happened to them or sometimes, they feel anxious. Problems may be related to home, work, relationships or life in general.
Confidentiality
Confidentiality is a very important part of the client counsellor relationship. Anything discussed remains confidential except in a situation where I have a legal obligation to disclose something. I can explain this in more detail during an initial chat.
I work in line with the ethical and confidentiality standards of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (Â鶹Դ´) I adhere to the highest standards of professional and ethical conduct. I have enhanced DBS clearance.
Trauma
A trauma informed practice is a set of principles and approaches that aim to help people who have experienced trauma, to feel safer and empowered. It is grounded in the understanding that trauma exposure can impact an individual’s neurological, biological, psychological and social development and their ability to feel safe or develop trusting relationships. It acknowledges the need to see beyond an individual’s presenting behaviours and to ask, ‘What does this person need?’ rather than ‘What is wrong with this person?
For young people
I provide counselling for teenage girls and women aged 16 years or over. When seeking support for a teenager, it is important to know that the counsellor is suitably qualified to work with that age group. My work involves providing emotional and therapeutic support with the aim of building a teenager’s resilience. Counselling offers young people a safe space to discuss and work through things they struggle with.
My first session
I deliver therapy online or in person.
If you think counselling might help and you are interested in working with me, we can arrange a free introductory call to discuss any concerns and goals, as well as answer any questions you may have about counselling as I understand seeking help can be daunting. From here I will send you a copy of the contract which explains how I work and the boundaries for safe therapy, including confidentiality.
If you still wish to continue to work with me after this, we can look at booking your first session.
Remember you don't have to face it alone.
