About me and my therapy practice
I am a couple and individual psychodynamic counsellor and psychotherapist working with adults of all ages and backgrounds, primarily within the framework of psychodynamic therapy. I have a particular interest in working with intercultural couples, as my own multicultural background lends to a distinct cultural sensitivity in this area and enables me to work in an empathic and respectful way with people from diverse cultural backgrounds. I offer therapy in English and can support an inter-lingual format for Armenian, Greek, and Italian speakers to bridge cultural and language hurdles thereby creating an environment where emotions can be expressed more accurately. Often the emotions around past circumstances seem more accessible when thinking in one鈥檚 native tongue.
I trained at Tavistock Relationships in London where I also work as a visiting clinician. I hold a BSc in Social Psychology with Philosophy, a Certificate of Higher Education in Counselling and a Postgraduate Diploma in Couple and Individual Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy which is accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (麻豆原创). I am a Graduate Member of Tavistock Relationships Association of Psychotherapists and Counsellors and a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (麻豆原创) and comply with the 麻豆原创鈥檚 Ethical Framework for Good Practice. I attend regular supervision and professional development programmes and workshops to enhance my development in Counselling and Psychotherapy. I am an EFT (Emotional Focused Therapy) informed therapist.
Practice description
Psychodynamic psychotherapy can foster a deeper understanding of yourself and those around you by exploring the root causes of some of your difficulties which might be linked to events in the past. Relationship difficulties can be the cause of much distress and unhappiness. Past experiences can have their imprint in the present and can trigger old and repetitive patterns of behaviour which can leave one feeling stuck and in pain.By providing a safe and non-judgemental space, our sessions will enable us to look together at some of your difficulties with kindness and compassion, helping you find clarity and a positive way forward. The process of therapy can be enriching and can support you in living a more contented and fulfilled life.
COUPLE THERAPY
Pursuing therapy as a couple can offer the opportunity to explore hurt and angry feelings in a safe and supportive setting. The insights offered in couple therapy can help to highlight unhelpful, destructive patterns of behaviour and create new, more fulfilling ways of relating. Talking confidentially in a non-judgemental space, in a collaborative way, can foster a greater sense of personal authority and well-being. Partners in a relationship can begin to feel more empathy towards each other and build a reflective understanding of what they each bring into the relationship.
INDIVIDUAL RELATIONSHIP THERAPY
The focus of the therapy will be on the issues which impact intimate adult relationships. Whether you choose to attend therapy with your partner or alone, seeking individual relationship therapy can pave the way to finding a deeper understanding of yourself and of your relationship. Sometimes individual relationship therapy can be helpful in overcoming a breakup, commitment issues or anxieties surrounding your relationship.

About me and my therapy practice
I am a couple and individual psychodynamic counsellor and psychotherapist with a particular interest in intercultural couples. I am of Armenian and Danish heritage, and my multicultural background informs my capacity to work with cultural difference in an empathic and respectful way. I offer therapy in English and can support an inter-lingual format for Armenian, Greek, and Italian speakers, bridging cultural and language hurdles to create an environment where emotions can be expressed more freely. When love crosses cultures, conversations can become loaded with unspoken histories, family expectations, and fears of being misunderstood. Therapy offers a space to slow things down, make meaning together, and respond with greater curiosity and emotional clarity, even when difference remains.
Drawing on a psychodynamic lens, I attend both to the visible cultural expectations shaping the couple and to the deeper, often unconscious, cultural narratives each partner carries from early life. This approach helps you understand how these internal and external scripts meet in your relationship, and opens space for new emotional possibilities. Intercultural couples often live at the intersection of external expectations and internalised histories. Therapy offers a space to understand how these pressures shape your relationship and how difference has come to feel difficult, risky, or painful between you.
Alongside my clinical practice, I have developed Seeing Me, Hearing Us: How to Have the Difficult Conversations About Race in Interracial and Intercultural Couples. The workbook extends my therapeutic focus on how cultural difference is lived and negotiated within relationships, offering a structured yet reflective way for partners to explore the unspoken, deepen mutual recognition, and create the emotional safety needed for honest conversations about race and belonging.
My first session
My work is grounded in psychodynamic psychotherapy and informed by Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT).Together, we pay attention to:
repeating emotional patterns
attachment needs and fears
how past relationships shape present reactions
how cultural, racial, and familial narratives operate both externally and internally. The aim is not to 鈥渇ix鈥 your relationship, but to help you respond with more awareness, emotional flexibility, and relational choice. You may still disagree. But you may find yourselves less stuck, less reactive, and more able to think together.
The Dance We Do
I am currently offering The Dance We Do 鈥 a focused 6-week couples therapy series (拢500 per couple).
Every relationship has a dance 鈥 the steps we take toward and away from each other, often without realising. These patterns can protect us, but they can also create distance over time. In this short-term programme, we slow the music, notice the steps, and practise new ways of moving that keep you connected even in moments of difference or conflict.
The series is suitable for couples who want to:
Understand and shift unhelpful patterns
Bridge communication gaps
Strengthen emotional safety and closeness
Develop practical tools for reconnection
The work is reflective, practical, and rooted in The Dance We Do framework 鈥 blending psychodynamic insight with exercises you can use between sessions. Contact me for more information.

Working With Difference
Cultural difference does not cause relationship problems on its own.
What causes distress is when difference becomes hard to talk about, easy to misread, or emotionally unsafe to explore.
In intercultural and interracial relationships, partners often carry:
different emotional languages
inherited cultural expectations
unspoken rules about loyalty, belonging, and identity
Therapy helps make these dynamics visible 鈥 not to erase difference, but to understand how it lives between you.
