About me and my therapy practice

When we work together, my first priority is to understand you as an individual. I don鈥檛 believe in a 鈥渙ne size fits all鈥 approach to therapy. Instead, I adapt the way I work so it fits your unique needs, goals, and circumstances.

I draw on a range of evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, as well as psychodynamic and humanistic therapies. This flexibility allows us to explore your difficulties from different perspectives and find the approach that best supports you.

Clients often describe my style as direct, collaborative and non-judgmental. I see therapy as a partnership: you bring your experiences and hopes, and I bring tools, knowledge, and guidance to help you move forward. Together, we might work on challenges such as trauma, anxiety, low mood, stress, burnout, or difficulties in relationships. For others, therapy may be about rebuilding self-esteem, navigating body image concerns, coping with chronic pain or illness, addressing sexual difficulties, or finding ways through major life transitions.

At the core of my work is the belief that everyone has the capacity for growth and change. My role is to create a safe and supportive space where you feel understood, respected, and empowered to work through what matters most to you. Having lived and worked in several countries, I bring a broad cultural sensitivity to my practice, which helps me connect with clients from a wide range of backgrounds.

Practice description

In my practice, clients can expect a thoughtful, compassionate, and highly individualised approach to therapy. My work is shaped by a strong academic foundation and extensive clinical experience in both private practice and the NHS. This has given me a broad and nuanced understanding of psychological distress, from everyday struggles to more complex challenges,  and how these can affect people in different life contexts.

My training spans counselling psychology and psychotherapy, clinical psychiatry, clinical sexology, traumatic stress, and pain management. This breadth of expertise enables me to support clients with a wide range of, and often overlapping, concerns. Whether you are seeking help with trauma, anxiety, low mood, relationship or sexual difficulties, or the psychological impact of living with chronic pain, I aim to provide a space where your experiences are taken seriously and your goals remain at the centre of our work together.

Clients can expect me to be direct yet supportive, combining evidence-based strategies with a collaborative style. Alongside therapeutic work, I also offer psychological assessments and psychoeducation when helpful, and I take care to work holistically, always keeping the wider context of your life in mind.

My first session

In our first session, the focus will be on getting to know you and understanding what has brought you to therapy. We鈥檒l spend time exploring your current concerns, your personal history, and what you would like to achieve from our work together. This conversation helps me build a fuller picture of your situation and ensures that I can offer the most appropriate support for your needs.

By the end of the session, we will begin to outline a collaborative treatment plan tailored specifically to you. This plan provides a flexible framework for our work, while leaving space to adapt as your needs and goals evolve over time. My aim is for you to leave the first session feeling heard, understood, and with a clearer sense of what therapy with me will look like moving forward.

About me and my therapy practice

I offer supervision to trainee therapists and qualified therapists, drawing on extensive academic training and broad clinical experience. As a Registered Supervisor of Applied Psychology Practice with the BPS, I aim to provide a supportive, reflective, and practical space where clinicians can develop both confidence and clinical competence. I hold a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology, an MSc in Clinical Psychiatry, an MSc in Forensic Mental Health, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Sexology, alongside a Certificate in Traumatic Stress Studies, and I am currently pursuing an MSc in Pain Management to deepen my understanding of complex presentations.

I have extensive experience working with clients facing trauma, anxiety, depression, complex relational difficulties, sexual health concerns, and chronic pain. In supervision, I support clinicians working across a variety of modalities, including CBT, EMDR, ACT, psychodynamic approaches, and humanistic therapies, tailoring guidance to each supervisee鈥檚 theoretical orientation, skill level, and client population. My approach is pluralistic and integrative, reflecting the same flexibility and precision I bring to clinical practice.

Practice description

In supervision, I offer an active and collaborative approach. I will not simply tell you what to do. Instead, we work together to reflect on cases, explore clinical decisions, and consider different perspectives.

You can count on my support, engagement, and honest discussion, in a safe and reflective space where you can develop your skills, deepen your understanding, and grow as a clinician. Supervision with me is a partnership focused on your learning, your development, and the practical application of your knowledge in a way that is both thoughtful and empowering.

My first session

In the first session, we focus on getting to know each other and establishing the foundations for our work together. We will discuss your training, experience, current clinical work, and any areas where you would like support or development. This helps me understand your supervision needs, learning style, and professional goals.

We will also talk about the supervision process itself, including expectations, boundaries, confidentiality, and how we will work together collaboratively. I will explain my approach, but the session is primarily about you鈥攜our questions, reflections, and priorities.

By the end of the first session, you will have a clear sense of how our supervision will work, what you can bring to it, and how I can support your ongoing growth as a clinician. It鈥檚 a space to start building trust, openness, and a collaborative relationship that will guide our future sessions.
