About me and my therapy practice
Hello, my name is Peter and I am qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, and Person-Centred counsellor, who can also work as a Pluralistic counsellor.
I have a warm, approachable nature and can offer you a safe and confidential space to explore your thoughts and feelings.
I combine Person-Centred skills and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy interventions as we work together, taking place within a non-judgemental environment. We explore your life experiences to help you process your emotions and thoughts in a safe space. I empathetically support you within this movement and also at times provide psychological-education and interventions to gently challenge embedded thought processes. All of this has the additional benefit of empowering you with information and knowledge to be able to maintain progress.
Our work together offers you the opportunity to process your life experiences and bring into focus what is happening in the here-and-now, working towards your goals.
If you would like couples counselling, I work as a Solution-Focused Brief Therapist with elements of Transactional Analysis. My training ensures that we work with what you both bring to the sessions, along with working towards your goals, for example in improving communication styles; understanding defence mechanisms; exploring roles, and ego states; including other areas of a relationship.
