Welcome to my page. I am an experienced and accredited intergrative therapist and NLP coach, and I work with both individuals, couples and mothers and daughters. I have a background in nursing and midwifery and law.
I work flexibly online as well as in person. In some circumstances, I can also offer home visits. I usually work Monday to Friday and can offer some evening sessions subject to availability.
About me and my therapy practice
I offer a warm, collaborative counselling space where you can talk openly and be heard without judgement. My approach is grounded in building a safe and trusting relationship, as I believe meaningful change comes through feeling understood and accepted.
I work in an integrative way, drawing on person-centred, psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioural ideas. This means I adapt how I work to suit you, rather than expecting you to fit a single model. We can explore current difficulties, look at patterns from the past, and develop practical ways of coping where helpful.
Sessions move at your pace. Some clients come with a clear focus; others are less sure and want space to reflect. Both are welcome. I aim to support you in making sense of your experiences, increasing self-awareness, and finding ways forward that feel right for you.
I have experience working with a range of issues including anxiety, low mood, stress, life transitions, and relationship difficulties including co-ercive control and narcissism. I am attentive to how wider factors such as culture, identity, and life circumstances may shape your experience.
I will listen carefully, offer reflections and gentle challenge where appropriate, and work alongside you to support change, resilience, and a greater sense of wellbeing.
Practice description
My practice is grounded in creating a calm, consistent and reliable space where you can bring whatever feels important. I aim to offer a balance of support and gentle challenge, helping you to explore your thoughts and feelings while also encouraging reflection and growth. Sessions are led by you, but I will remain actively engaged, offering observations and helping you notice patterns or connections that may not be immediately clear.
I work flexibly and collaboratively, checking in regularly about how the work is feeling and adapting our focus as needed. Some sessions may be reflective and exploratory, while others may be more focused on finding practical ways to manage current difficulties. There is no expectation to have everything figured out—part of the work can be making sense of uncertainty.
Where it feels helpful, I incorporate creative ways of working alongside talking therapy. This might include using imagery, metaphor, or simple creative exercises to deepen understanding and access emotions that are harder to express verbally. These approaches are always optional and guided by your preferences.
I aim to provide a space that is inclusive, respectful and attuned to your individual experiences, including how aspects of identity, culture and life context may shape your story. My intention is that you feel supported to explore, reflect and move forward in a way that feels authentic to you.
My first session
I always offer a free introductory chat as it is so important to get the right fit. This usually lasts for 15-20 minutes and will give us a good idea if we will work well together.

Welcome - I'm Julie, a Â鶹Դ´ Accredited integrative therapist and clinical supervisor, offering individual supervision to counsellor, and psychotherapists (both qualified and in training) — in person in Birmingham or Worcestershire, and online anywhere in the country.
About me and my therapy practice
I welcome supervisees integrating (or looking to integrate) a range of approaches, including NLP and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). I am also a certified NLP Coach and Couples Therapist. This year I will complete further advanced training in EMDR and IFS. I love to work creatively and find different ways to support my supervisees in their client work; just as we are all different, so is each theraputic relationship, and indeed each supervision relationship, asking something different of us which can be exciting and challenging in equal measure.
I draw on the seven-eyed model of supervision within a pluralist frame, paying attention to the client work, your responses as a practitioner, and the wider system in which you work. My aim is to support you in developing your own clinical voice with clarity and confidence. I see supervision as peer to peer with 'fresh eyes' and curiosity, and I find this style of working fosters openess and transparency as well as responsibiity and accountability.
My background in nursing, midwifery and hospice care informs the depth and groundedness I bring to supervision. I have a thriving private practice working with couples and individuals and I specilalise in NPD, coercive control, estrangement, relational difficluties, mother and daughter work, inner child work and complex grief and trauma.
Practice description
Supervision with me is a space to pause, step back and really think about your work — in a way that is often difficult to do alone.
You are welcome and encouraged to bring whatever is alive in your practice: the sessions that felt clear, the ones that left you uncertain, the client you are finding it hard to think about, and the dilemmas that do not have easy answers. I see these not as problems, but as important material for reflection and growth.
We will work collaboratively and adapt to your needs. Some sessions may focus closely on clinical detail; others may explore your responses, patterns in the work, or your professional development. I am comfortable working in depth and at a slower pace where needed.
I supervise therapists working with individuals and couples. I have a particular interest in grief and bereavement, relational work, and the emotional demands of working with trauma and complexity.
My aim is to offer a balance of support and gentle challenge — a steady, containing space where you feel able to think openly and develop trust in your own clinical judgement.
My first session
I offer a free, no-obligation initial conversation for all prospective supervisees — usually around 30 minutes, by phone or video.
This is an informal opportunity for us to talk about your current work, your supervision needs, and what you are looking for from the supervisory relationship. It gives you space to ask questions about how I work and to get a sense of whether I feel like a good fit for you.
I believe the supervisory relationship is an important one, and it is essential that you feel comfortable, able to speak openly, and supported in your development.
If you decide to proceed, we will agree a clear supervision contract covering frequency, fees, and any training or professional requirements. There is no obligation to continue after the initial conversation.
