About me and my therapy practice
At times we can feel stuck, depressed or simply finding ourselves lacking motivation. Life can often surprise us with unwanted situations, exposing old wounds or creating new anxieties.
It helps to explore what can be going on for you with the support from a qualified professional and together I work with you to gain a deeper understanding of yourself .
I work with a range of issues including but not limited to : anxiety, depression, bereavement, relationship issues and childhood and generational trauma.
As a therapist I am interested in your experience of life so far, we will look at what's happening in the 'here and now' and think about patterns of behaviour, coping mechanisms or unprocessed feelings that may be consciously or unconsciously stopping you from moving forward.
In addition I also cover post natal issues, birthing trauma, disordered eating, bullying, career, lack of confidence, low self esteem, gender identity and sexual wellbeing.
My work is integrative and so I am not a 'nodding' therapist, instead I wish to work with you to create a space to explore your inner world.
Practice description
I work in person from my home and also remotely, both online and on the phone - allowing you to access therapy at a time and place that suits you.
This is a non- judgmental space for you to express the true part of yourself that wishes to emerge, to look at past behaviours and patterns and to think about how you would like your future to be.
I have worked extensively for a local mental health charity and have experience in supporting those who wish to work on healing, wether this is your first experience of counselling or have had experience of therapy before.
My first session
Our initial consultation will last up to an hour where we will explore what has brought you to therapy and discuss what you hope to achieve.
I am aware that coming to therapy can be a big step for most as often there can be unresolved shame, guilt or anger intertwined with what we may be bringing.
So the initial session gives you a chance to get a feel for how I work as a therapist as it is important the space feels right for you.
