Availability

I currently have availablilty acoss Monday to Thursday at varying times including evening appointments.

I have a flexible approach to my work and can arrange sessions based on client availability such as shift work etc. Please contact me for further details. I can work weekly or bi-weekly depending on your needs.

I typically work Monday -Thursday.

I offer concession rates for trainee counsellors who require personal therapy as part of their course requirements.

For those who wish to have outdoor therapy then we are limited to daylight hours.

About me and my therapy practice

Are you feeling anxious, stuck, depressed, or overwhelmed? Life can be distressing and upsetting, and it is not easy to ask for help. It takes courage making the first step in talking to a counsellor. I understand how hard this can be, as I have experienced this myself. I can help you talk through the things that you are struggling with. I believe that you are the expert on yourself and that you have the values that will help you overcome the tricky situations that you face. Sometimes this can only be realised by talking to someone who understands your difficulties.

I am experienced in helping people with anxiety, depression, bereavement, loss, finding meaning in life, or understanding past experiences that affect you. I also specialise in supporting women, and those close to them, through menopause and perimenopause and run workshops helping people to become menopause informed. I am LGBTQ+ friendly, and work with clients within this community.

I can offer a relaxing space where you can talk openly and in confidence about things that are difficult to share with others. I can help you to feel better about yourself, your problems, and improve your understanding of self and your feelings, or even to find meaning from life. You can discuss your issues without being judged or criticised, with acceptance and empathy. Counselling is not about giving advice; it is about allowing you to discuss your issues, in a safe and friendly space enabling you to find new ways to help yourself or make changes if you choose to.

I am qualified and hold a BSc Honours degree in Counselling. I work with an approach that suits you best, tailoring the therapy to your needs. I am also regularly updating my skills by undertaking further training and qualifications. Examples of my further training include outdoor therapy, confidence in menopause, acceptance & commitment therapy, art therapy, mental health awareness, working with the inner child, and neurobiology of intimate interpersonal trauma.

Practice description

I offer flexible ways of working to suit your needs 鈥 whether that鈥檚 face-to-face in a private, comfortable room at my office, online via video, by telephone, or outdoors in natural settings.

My cosy therapy room is conveniently located near Wigan town centre, with free parking available and excellent public transport links 鈥 there鈥檚 a bus stop less than five minutes鈥 walk away.

Outdoor therapy can take place while sitting on a quiet bench in a green space or through walk-and-talk sessions in various accessible locations across Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Cheshire, and Merseyside. This way of working can feel less formal and more relaxed, as we walk or sit side by side in nature. Many of the locations I use are suitable for people with mobility needs. Outdoor sessions are always optional and flexible 鈥 if the weather isn鈥檛 favourable or you鈥檇 prefer a different setting, we can easily move indoors, online, or to telephone sessions.

My first session

I offer a free 20 minute initial telephone or video session to discuss the goals of therapy, how, where and when we will work together and if we are suited to work together.

My rates  are 拢60 per standard 50 minute session. I can also offer a reduced rate for block booking.

I can also offer longer sessions particularly for outdoor therapy, if you require this and can work up to 1 hour 30 minutes per session. Prices for this are available on request.

I also offer 20% student discount.
