About me and my therapy practice
I’m Kerry, a Somatic Trauma Psychotherapist based in Wiltshire.
Life can feel overwhelming at times, and it’s completely natural to lose our sense of direction and ask those questions of "Who am I?" or "What am I doing?"
There may be old patterns that served you once, but are no longer effective, as well as possible relationship issues that need attention and care. In my experience, everyone can face difficulties in their lives, too often people suffer in silence, stay stuck or feel generally hopeless. When faced with the right environment, our difficulties can become a source of change and growth creating different outcomes and possibilities.
I’m here to support adults and young people through challenges like trauma, anxiety, and relationship struggles, using an approach that considers the whole person mind, body, and emotions.
In therapy, safety comes first. I work with the Tri-Phasic Trauma model, ensuring a steady process of stabilization, processing, and integration, so healing feels manageable, not overwhelming. Through psychoeducation and somatic techniques, we’ll explore ways to bring relief, restore balance, and reconnect with yourself.
Having experienced therapy myself, I truly understand how big of a step this can be. You don’t have to navigate it alone, I’ll be alongside you, creating a space where you feel seen, heard, and supported.
Practice description
As a Somatic Trauma Therapist I am dedicated to exploring your unique story and meeting your individual needs. I don’t adhere to one traditional method, instead, I blend a variety of therapeutic perspectives and interventions to create a personalized, compassionate process just for you. My approach is centred on truly attuning to who you are, building a relationship of trust, so that together we can uncover new pathways for growth and change.
In our sessions, you'll have a secure, non-judgmental space to explore your feelings, thoughts, and behaviours. While past coping strategies might have served you once, they often no longer support you in today's challenges. I gently guide you through these old patterns and help bring potential issues to light, transforming difficulties into opportunities for healing. With empathy and a listening ear, I support you at your own pace, empowering you to develop a new toolbox of coping skills and fostering genuine, effective change.
I hope to work together to create a future where you feel seen, supported, and capable of moving forward into a healthier, more fulfilling life.
My first session
An initial assessment session is essential, it’s a chance for us to connect and see if we are a good fit. This free, 30-minute online meeting provides an opportunity to discuss what has brought you here, your expectations from counselling, and what you hope to achieve through therapy.
During this brief session, you can ask any questions about my background, how I work, and hear about the range of therapeutic methods I integrate, from Humanistic, integrative and Somatic Trauma therapies.
If we decide to continue together, we'll schedule regular sessions at a time that suits both your needs and my availability, establishing a consistent and secure slot for you.
This initial conversation allows me to gain insights into your unique situation and determine the best way to support your journey aswell as you deciding if I may be the therapist for you.
