About me and my therapy practice
Why you are looking for counselling right now is unique to you, and is important. We will seek to find clarity and insight around why you feel the way you do, and to move towards a place of restored peace, purpose and sense of self.
Our therapeutic relationship will provide you with a safe space to explore past experiences that cause you pain and discomfort in the present, and also to work through recent experiences that feel overwhelming and are impacting your day to day wellbeing. You will also have an opportunity to better understand your attachment style and how you relate to others, and in so doing help you enrich and strengthen your own personal relationships.
At the core of my model is the belief that all people have the ability to heal, grow and change, given the right therapeutic environment. When the right conditions are available to us, I believe that we naturally develop a stronger sense of self, clearer boundaries between ourselves and others, and a freedom to experience each moment as it comes, rather than living anxiously in the future or painfully in the past. These are the conditions that I seek to offer you through counselling, enabling you to organically grow and heal from within.
As you experience a therapeutic relationship where you are not judged and are accepted as you are, you receive an opportunity to deepen your sense of self-worth as you discover that your value is not connected to anyone else’s expectations of you, but is found simply in who you are.
At times I will invite you to work creatively, using writing, art, objects or movement to explore your feelings and experience. This can be a powerful way to express what sometimes can’t be expressed in words, and to connect with your whole self as a way to find wholeness and healing. You don’t need to see yourself as creative for this to help you, you simply need to be open to explore.
Practice description
Counselling Space
I offer counselling sessions in a peaceful garden cabin in Shepperton, Surrey, just a 10-minute walk from Shepperton Rail Station and High Street. This quiet, private space is designed to help you feel calm and comfortable as you explore your feelings.
Parking
There is plenty of free parking directly outside my practice, and coffee shops and riverside cafés nearby if you’d like to reflect and relax before or after your session.
Session Format
I offer both in-person and online sessions, so you can choose the format that works best for you based on your location and preferences. I am happy to discuss whether phone sessions would work for your needs as well.
Sessions are 50 minutes long and take place at the same time each week, providing consistency and structure for our work together.
Flexible Scheduling
I will aim to find a session time that suits your schedule.
If your ideal time isn't available, we can start with a time that works for you and adjust later as needed.
Who I Work With
I offer therapy to adults and young people, and I welcome individuals from all walks of life, no matter your stage of life, background, gender, sexuality, or spiritual beliefs. My goal is to see you as the individual you are, and to create a welcoming space where you feel valued and understood.
Professional Commitment
I’m fully committed to ensuring the best possible therapeutic experience for you, and I follow the Â鶹Դ´ Ethical Framework for confidentiality, data protection, and ongoing professional development.
Accessibility
My practice is not yet wheelchair accessible, but I offer flexible online sessions to ensure therapy is accessible. Please feel free to get in touch if you have specific accessibility needs or require further information.
Payment
Payment is straightforward and made via bank transfer before each session. You are also welcome to pay in cash at the start of the session or arrange monthly payments if that’s easier for you.
My first session
Before our first session, I’ll send you a Working Agreement that outlines what you can expect from our time together. This document includes important details, such as my Cancellation Policy, as well as a brief personal assessment to help me understand your reasons for seeking therapy and how I can best support you.
Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and for you to share what’s bringing you to therapy. I’ll create a space where you can feel comfortable and supported as we begin to explore your experiences and goals for our work together.
