About me and my therapy practice
If you want to talk confidentially and safely to someone who is really listening, then counselling can help. I can help with trauma from past experiences, feelings of sadness, low self-worth, worries and fears, relationship concerns, or just unsettling thoughts and feelings that may be difficult to put into words. I am based north of Norwich, and offer face to face, online, and walking sessions to suit your preference.
Difference and diversity are important to me, and I aim to work inclusively, with respect and sensitivity.
In addition to private practice, I currently work for a mental health charity in Norwich, I have also previously worked as a Counsellor at The Norwich Centre, for Mind, and as a Samaritans volunteer.
Practice description
In my practice I seek to provide the warmth, support, and empathy needed for you to explore your thoughts and feelings without judgement. This in turn allows you to process concerns, and to draw on your own resources to work things through at your own pace, and in your own way.
After an initial consultation we would usually meet at an agreed time slot for an hour each week. Some people prefer a short number of sessions over a few weeks, while others prefer longer. We can talk about what you want to get out of therapy at the initial session, and review this as we go along.
I offer three types of session: In person at my counselling practice north of Norwich, online, and outdoor walking sessions.
I have a life-long interest in nature which I find both inspiring and grounding. My outdoor walking therapy sessions involve walking through quiet parts of the countryside and coast or in urban nature areas. These sessions are similar in content and duration to online and in person sessions, but have some additional considerations around confidentiality, health and safety, and the weather.
I am also very happy to do conventional face to face sessions from my counselling room, or online. I find that different clients have different preferences and I am willing to be flexible.
I am fully qualified and registered and follow the ethical code of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists.
Difference and diversity are important to me, and I aim to work inclusively, with respect and sensitivity.
I also offer concessionary rates, please ask for further details.
