Availability

I am currently opening up my diary to new clients for face to face and remote video/telephone sessions on Monday's and Tuesday's.

The hours I can offer for face to face sessions are from 8am on the days above and the last session I can offer at the moment is 7pm

Any referrals I receive, I will always try and reply to you via email and/or text. Sometimes my emails may go into your 'spam' folder and unfortunately I have no control over this. So I will always try and send a text message as well over a telephone call as it may not be a suitable time for you to talk to me over the phone. If for privacy reasons, you don't want me to make that initial contact via text then please don't add your telephone number and I will know to just contact you through email.

I endeavour to contact you back within 24 hours unless referrals are received over the weekend or after 7pm. I will then either contact you on the Monday or the following day. If I am away on leave I do put an away message on my Whatsapp and any emails I receive while I am away. This contains dates that I am unavailable.

I do have regular self-care breaks every 6-8 weeks which are 1 or 2 weeks in length. I do always give good notice of this when this is due to happen.

About me and my therapy practice

I understand that reaching out for mental health support can feel daunting, especially when you may not be sure what to expect. My role as a counsellor is to offer a safe, welcoming, and non-judgemental space where you can take your time, share at your own pace, and feel respected in where you are. I will always be guided by your comfort and will never ask you to explore anything before you feel ready.

As trust develops and you begin to feel more secure, counselling can become a place where new understanding and gentle healing can begin. Although a stigma around mental health still exists, I believe deeply that emotional wellbeing is just as important as physical health. Even when struggles aren’t visible, they are very real and deserve care, compassion, and understanding.

I am a qualified integrative counsellor, working primarily in a person-centred way. I believe in walking alongside you rather than offering advice or telling you what to do, supporting you to explore what feels difficult with care and sensitivity. Where it feels helpful, I may gently use elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and other therapeutic tools, always guided by your individual needs and what feels right for you.

I offer compassionate support when working with traumatic experiences from both childhood and adulthood, with an understanding of how these experiences can shape emotional wellbeing. Together, we move at a pace that feels safe and supportive for you.

Since beginning my counselling training in 2018, I have had the privilege of supporting clients through a wide range of experiences, including addiction, bereavement, trauma, anxiety, depression, loss, life changes, understanding their neurodivergence, relationship difficulties and many other personal challenges.

I have also completed my BBE Teacher Training and have been approved to teach CPCAB counselling students on the journey to becoming a qualified counsellor for Level 2, 3 and Level 4.

I have been in private practice for nearly 4 years and work from my own counselling room in a quiet residential area of Strood. The space is calm and spacious, while also being cosy and comfortable. It offers a safe setting for face-to-face sessions. I also offer video and telephone sessions from the same space.

I have worked as a volunteer counsellor at Kenward House and alongside residents at The Lodge, both supporting people experiencing addiction and substance misuse. This work has strengthened my passion for offering understanding, compassionate support to those navigating addiction.

I have supported clients facing a variety of challenges, including anxiety, depression, loss, trauma, bereavement, relationship difficulties, addiction, and navigating life through a neurodivergent lens. I offer a safe space to explore these experiences, helping clients understand their emotions and discover ways to cope and move forward at their own pace.

My first session

I offer a free 30-minute video session where we can meet, discuss your reasons for approaching a counsellor, discuss any relevant medical history, and explore what you hope to gain from counselling. This is an opportunity to see if working together feels right for you.

There is no obligation to decide during this initial session. I always encourage clients to take some time to reflect and then get back in touch if they would like to continue.

If you choose to move forward, we can then arrange your first full 50-minute session at a time that suits us both. If I feel I am not the best counsellor for your needs, I will offer alternative options for you to explore.
