I'm Laura. I appreciate you taking the time to consider me for your next step towards wellness.
I value how uneasy it may feel to express your struggles to a stranger in a counselling setting, I hope you will find me genuinely caring, relaxed and friendly. I offer a liberal, welcoming, and safe space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings.
Counselling has been proved to be beneficial for growth and change, here is some of what I believe:
* It encourages self-awareness: I can help you delve into present experiences, or past family dynamics, and significant life events to see how they have shaped current behaviours and beliefs and gain self-worth.
* It provides emotional processing: I can help you reconstruct personal meaning and find a new way to live while still honouring the experience of trauma, grief, or other difficult events -and gain lasting change.
* It offers a new perspective: I can help you view challenges more objectively, so you can learn to break down larger problems into manageable steps and gain confidence.

I work remotely.
I am experienced in blending several therapeutic methods with a Theocentric philosophy hinged by person-centred approach, it means that:
* I value, recognise and respect a client's unique background, including race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, religion, age, disability, and socio-economic status.
* I focus on the needs in a positive and constructive attitude and I encourage and support you to decide what areas you wish to discuss and give you the time and emotional space to do that.
* I will incorporate various tools and techniques to help you access and understand how your own emotions play a role to bring lasting change.
My first session
From your first call to your first session:
* You will receive a free, no-obligation 15-minute phone call. During this call, we can:
* Consider if online counselling is for you
* Decide if counselling with me is right for you
* Build an expectation for counseling
* Review fees and payment
* Find a suitable time to begin your counselling journey
* Prior to our first session I will provide you with information regarding how we will work together guided by the ethical principles of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (Âé¶¹Ô´´) which we both will pledge to adhere to.
* On the first session I will help you to identify the issue you’d like to explore by talking about yourself and getting to know you
There after:
* You are in control of the number of sessions. I will check in periodically to discuss progress and whether more sessions are needed. This is an open conversation so while I will offer a professional assessment to ensure the therapy remains relevant and helpful, I will ultimately respect your choice, needs, goals, and resources, such as finances or schedule.
* We will discuss how best to end the therapy. Instead of an abrupt stop, I can help you tailoring your transition by spacing out your sessions. This will provide a safe way to test your independence while still having support.
