About me and my therapy practice
Welcome. I'm here to offer you a gentle, accepting space where you can talk freely, without judgement and without being told what to do. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, lost, or simply in need of someone to listen, I’m alongside you, at your pace, in your own time.
I’m a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist, with a diploma in counselling and additional certifications in online and telephone counselling. I also volunteer with Cruse Bereavement Support and the Samaritans, offering emotional support to people during some of the hardest moments of their lives.
As a German working in the UK, I bring a different cultural perspective to counselling, one that blends directness with warmth, and attentiveness with clarity. This outlook can help clients see things in a new light, offering fresh ways of understanding long-standing emotional challenges.
I work with adults of all ages and backgrounds, and I offer a particular welcome to older adults. People come to me with many different life experiences: grief, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, loneliness, anger, work-related stress, and the emotional effects of dementia.
Whatever you’re facing, you don’t have to face it alone.
Practice description
Through my work with Mind, Cruse, GP surgeries, and the Margaret Jackson Centre in Exeter, I've learned that the heart of effective counselling lies in the relationship between counsellor and client. That’s why I offer an initial free phone or Zoom session, an informal space for us to get to know each other, and to gently explore how I might best support you.
I don’t offer quick fixes or promises to take away life’s difficulties. Instead, I’ll walk alongside you, helping you find new perspectives and deeper understanding. Together, we can uncover insights that support you in navigating challenges, feeling more at ease with yourself, and reconnecting with a sense of purpose, even during tough times.
If you're looking to live a more meaningful, satisfying life, with more ease and less emotional weight, I’d be honoured to support you on that journey.
My first session
I offer a free 20 min "Get-to-Know" session via Zoom or telephone.
This initial session is a "Get-to-Know" session for both you and myself. You will get a sense of how I work and you may ask any questions. You will be asked what brings you to counselling and about the issues you want to work on. You will be asked questions about your personal circumstance for me to make sure I am the right person to help you.
