About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I’m Julia, a Â鶹Դ´-registered integrative counsellor and psychosexual and relationship therapist. I work from a humanistic, person-centred approach, integrating elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and psychodynamic therapy. This means I focus on the here and now, while also exploring past experiences and how they may influence your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours today.
I believe therapy is not a one-size-fits-all process. We are all unique, and therapy should be tailored to your individual needs. Through my work with organisations such as North London Hospice, Mind, and the NHS, I have supported people at many different stages of life, including those navigating loss, anxiety, depression, and stress.
I specialise in sex and relationship therapy, supporting individuals and couples with personal and sensitive concerns, always with care, respect, and compassion. I aim to create a space where you feel comfortable and safe, and where no topic is taboo. Open and honest communication can be particularly difficult with those closest to us, often due to fear of judgment or misunderstanding. In therapy, we can gently explore these feelings together, at a pace that feels right for you.
Whatever brings you to therapy, this space is yours. We will work slowly and thoughtfully, exploring what feels safe and manageable for you.
Practice description
I offer sessions online via Teams or over the telephone. I can rent a therapy room in the North London area if face-to-face is more convenient.
Whichever works best for you and feels the most comfortable.
My first session
The first session offers an opportunity for us to explore whether working together feels right for you. This initial session is offered at my standard rate.
During the session, I will explain how I work and invite you to ask any questions you may have. I will also ask you to complete a brief assessment form, which helps me gain a clearer understanding of your needs and tailor the sessions to best support you.
There is no pressure to commit. It is important that you feel comfortable and confident before beginning any therapeutic work.
