About me and my therapy practice
Does it feel as though you are moving through your day-to-day on autopilot, or finding it difficult to say no even when you know you should? You might feel stuck regardless of what you try, or perhaps you feel a sense of isolation in these challenges. While it can feel lonely to navigate these experiences, you do not have to face them alone. Therapy offers a dedicated space to explore these feelings and develop the tools needed to move forward with purpose.
How I can help
I am Roxanne, a therapist committed to helping you navigate the complexities of life. I work with individuals to help them establish firm boundaries, find their voice, and build internal self-worth. My practice provides a safe, confidential environment to address the mental load of low self-esteem, anxiety, and the exhaustion that comes from putting others first.
My approach
My practice is primarily person-centred, which means I believe you are the authority on your own life. We work together as equals, and I place great importance on building a trusting, professional relationship as the foundation of our work. While I am person-centred at my core, I integrate different therapeutic methods to ensure our sessions are tailored specifically to your needs and goals.
In our sessions, you remain in control. You set the pace and choose what to bring to the space, allowing us to shape a path that leads away from quiet compliance and toward personal integrity and choice.
Practice description
Choosing the right support is a significant step, and it is important that you feel comfortable with my therapeutic approach. My practice is built on the belief that the relationship between therapist and client is the most vital part of the process. I provide a calm, grounded environment where you can speak openly, knowing you will be met with empathy, professional respect, and a lack of judgement.
How we can work together
I offer two ways of working, depending on your current needs and goals:
Ongoing Therapy: If you are looking for deeper exploration or long-term support, I offer weekly sessions. This consistency creates a sense of safety and containment as we work through more complex experiences together. Because my foundation is person-centred, there is no set agenda. You bring whatever feels most pressing each week, and we explore it at a pace that feels manageable for you. I offer both short-term therapy and long-term open-ended work, and we will regularly review our progress together.
The Clarity Session: As an alternative to ongoing work, I offer a standalone 75-minute Clarity Session. This is designed for those who may not require weekly therapy but need an immediate, focused space to gain perspective. It is an intensive session where we can look at a specific challenge, such as a difficult decision or a boundary you are struggling to set. This provides a dedicated environment to untangle your thoughts and leave with more clarity on your next steps.
My Approach
While my core approach is person-centred, I understand that every individual is unique. I integrate different therapeutic tools and perspectives to better support your specific needs. Whether we are working on boundaries, self-worth, or exploring feelings of anxiety and depression, the focus remains firmly on your autonomy and your voice.
My first session
Our first session is an opportunity for us to begin understanding your world and the specific factors that have brought you to therapy at this time. It is a space for us to get to know one another and to ensure that you feel comfortable with my way of working.
What to expect
During this initial meeting, we will explore your current circumstances and what you hope to gain from our work together. I will often ask about different areas of your life, such as your family dynamics, your work, and your significant relationships. This collaborative exploration helps us to begin identifying any recurring themes or patterns—such as the 'fixer' role or people-pleasing—that may emerge during our sessions.
The purpose of this session
The aim is not to find immediate, superficial solutions, but to establish a robust foundation of trust. It is an important time for us to determine how we might work together to address the complexities you are facing. This is also a dedicated space for you to ask any questions you may have about the therapeutic process or my integrative approach.
There is no pressure to have everything figured out or to share more than you feel ready for in this first meeting. We move at a pace that respects your boundaries and your autonomy.
