I know reaching out for counselling can feel like a big step. Maybe you’re here because you want to feel more confident in yourself, to quiet that inner critic, or to reconnect with a sense of self-compassion that’s been missing for a while. Maybe you’re noticing patterns in your relationships that you’d like to understand and change. Or perhaps you can’t quite put your finger on it — you just know something inside you is asking for care, for space, for something to shift.
With empathic, creative, and trauma-informed support, I help you nurture self-compassion, build confidence, and reconnect with yourself. Gentle guidance, breathwork, and tailored approaches create a safe space for reflection, healing, and growth. I know everyone is unique, and that is why our journey together will be suited to your own personal needs.
Through my work at The Turning Point Counselling Service in Brighouse, I’ve seen how powerful it can be to have a safe space to explore these feelings. And with over 20 years of experience helping and supporting people in a previous role, I understand how important genuine care and understanding are when you’re navigating difficult emotions or life transitions.
Begin your journey toward self-compassion, confidence and more rewarding relationships in a safe, compassionate, trauma-informed space. Together, we can explore, heal, and reconnect with yourself at your own pace. You're welcome to get in touch whenever it feels right.
Practice description
As a person-centred counsellor, I place you at the heart of our work together. I believe the therapeutic space should feel safe, supportive, and genuinely collaborative, enabling you to explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace. I also work creatively and flexibly, drawing on a range of therapeutic modalities to suit your individual needs.
Together, we can identify what you hope to achieve, set meaningful goals, and regularly review our progress to ensure the work continues to feel helpful and aligned with where you want to go. Because everyone is unique, our sessions will be tailored specifically to you—supporting you in building self-awareness, developing coping strategies, and discovering resources that can help you navigate challenges and move toward the changes you want to make.
My first session
Our first session is really about getting to know each other and beginning to build a sense of trust and connection, giving you the opportunity to get a sense of how counselling might feel for you. It’s a space to start exploring what you’d like support with and what you hope to gain from our sessions.
Once we’ve agreed on how we’ll work together, there will be plenty of time to begin your therapeutic journey, allowing you to talk about whatever feels safe and important to you.
This first meeting is also a good time to ask any questions and to reflect on what you hope to gain from counselling, as well as what you might need from me to help you move towards your goals.
