About me and my therapy practice

Have you found yourself telling others ‘I’m fine’ but inside you feel sad, lonely, and overwhelmed? Perhaps you don’t want to tell others how you’re really feeling but deep down you know that you need to talk to someone. Situations like this often bring people to counselling.

In my experience, the counselling process allows people to gain a greater understanding of themselves and their feelings. It could also help you gain a greater understanding of difficult life experiences both past and present within a safe, non-judgemental therapeutic relationship.

I am a warm, empathic, counsellor. I have over 20 years’ experience in the therapeutic sector, having worked in various capacities in disability (RNIB, Ealing Anchor), bereavement (Cruse, Bereft), and cancer organisations as well as volunteered for the Samaritans. I trained as a humanistic, counsellor at the Metanoia Institute. I blend Person-centred, Transactional-Analysis and Gestalt approaches to enable my clients to make sense of what they are feeling in both their mind and body.

I work with many different areas such as anxiety and depression. I also have a particular interest in working with parents who have children with additional needs.  I currently hold parents therapy groups at Anchor Foundation in Ealing where parents can talk about the demanding role of parenting a child with additional needs.  It is a frustrating, difficult and overwhelming long winding road which is both complex and emotional.  My role is to be with you on this journey to greater self-understanding and self-awareness which can in itself lessen some of the pain.

Whatever your reason for seeking counselling, I look forward to hearing from you.   If emailing me please check your spam sometimes my emails find their way there!
