About me and my therapy practice
I am a 麻豆原创-registered, trauma-informed Therapeutic Counsellor specialising in systemic family and relationship counselling. I offer a safe, supportive space for families, couples, and individuals to explore communication, understand one another better, and move through challenges together. Whether you're feeling disconnected, navigating a life transition, or stuck in repeating patterns, counselling can help you reconnect and find new ways forward.
Family and relationship dynamics can be a source of strength and support, but when they feel strained, it can affect everyone. Tensions may build slowly or be triggered by events such as separation, bereavement, blending families, or changes in health, education, or roles. Systemic counselling looks at the bigger picture, recognising that no single person is the 鈥減roblem.鈥 Instead, we explore how everyone affects and is affected by one another, and how even small shifts can create meaningful, lasting change.
I currently work as a Family Counsellor with Relate, the UK鈥檚 leading relationship support organisation. I offer sessions for couples, parents, children (under 18 or adult), siblings, co-parents, and extended family members.
With over 30 years鈥 experience supporting families and individuals in education, social care, mediation, and counselling, I bring warmth, care, and a relational approach to my work. My sessions are flexible; sometimes the whole family attends, sometimes just a couple or one person begins. The process is always shaped by what feels safe and useful for you.
If you鈥檙e curious about whether family or relationship counselling could help, I offer a free 15-minute consultation to talk things through.
Practice description
I offer a warm, supportive space for families, couples, young people, and adults to explore life鈥檚 challenges and strengthen their relationships. I specialise in systemic family and relationship counselling, a type of therapy that looks at the patterns, dynamics, and communication styles that shape how we relate to one another. My approach is grounded in care, respect, and the belief that change is possible when we feel heard and understood.
Family and relationship counselling provides an opportunity for all voices to be heard. It can help with conflict, disconnection, big life transitions, blended family dynamics, grief, and more. Whether you're facing a specific issue or simply want to feel closer and communicate more openly, counselling can offer a fresh perspective and a way forward. Sessions are always shaped around what feels safe and helpful for those involved; sometimes this includes the whole family, a couple, or just one or two members.
Clients often say they feel safe, accepted, and able to speak freely in sessions with me. My style is collaborative, gentle, and non-judgemental. If you鈥檇 like to talk about whether therapy might be helpful for you, your relationship, or your family, I offer a free 15-minute consultation.
My first session
Before therapy begins, I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation to help us decide if working together feels like a good fit. This is a relaxed space where you can ask questions, share what鈥檚 bringing you to therapy, and find out more about how I work.
If we decide to go ahead, I will send you a brief assessment form to complete before your first session. This helps me get a sense of what support you鈥檙e looking for and gives us a starting point to begin our work together. If you鈥檙e attending as a couple or a family, I may also ask for each person鈥檚 perspective where appropriate, so everyone feels included from the start.
In our first full session, we鈥檒l begin building a sense of safety and trust. You鈥檒l have space to talk about what鈥檚 important to you, at your own pace. Whether you鈥檙e coming as a family, couple, young person, or adult, there鈥檚 no pressure to share everything at once, we鈥檒l go gently and focus on what feels most useful for you.
Individual sessions last 50 minutes, and relationship or family sessions are 75 minutes. You can choose to meet online or in person at my Wokingham practice, whatever feels most comfortable for you. The first session is charged at the same rate as ongoing sessions.

About me and my therapy practice
I am a 麻豆原创-registered, trauma-informed therapeutic counsellor working with children, young people, adults, families, and relationships. I am committed to creating a safe, non-judgmental space for growth, where self-awareness, self-compassion, and holistic well-being are nurtured. Together, we will build a trusted relationship where you feel accepted and respected.
If you鈥檙e feeling overwhelmed, lost, stuck, or in crisis, seeking support is a brave step forward. Therapy offers a unique space, free from distractions, to explore difficulties, share burdens, and find greater balance and peace.
With 30 years of experience supporting children, adults, and families, I offer counselling for a wide range of personal and relational challenges. I don鈥檛 view problems as big or small, if something matters to you, it matters to me. Together, we will explore whatever is on your mind, recognising its impact on your life and supporting your journey toward well-being. Therapy provides valuable insight and clarity, helping to strengthen your connection with yourself and others.
I believe strongly in the transformative power of counselling. It helps navigate challenges and acts as a proactive tool for self-discovery. Therapy often highlights patterns of thinking, feeling, relating, and behaving, which with the support of a trusted therapist, can become opportunities for change. This understanding fosters curiosity, insight, and often unexpected transformations. Gentle challenges and supported exploration are essential pathways to personal growth.
Counselling is not only for times of crisis. It is also a way to engage with your identity, purpose, and direction, and to address difficulties before they become overwhelming. It can enrich your life and relationships, offering the clarity and confidence to move forward.
Practice description
Sessions are 50 minutes and held weekly. Counselling can be short-term or long-term, a one-time experience, or an ongoing part of your self-care routine. It鈥檚 an investment in yourself and your future.
I offer both brief therapy and long-term therapy. Open-ended work allows us to explore more in depth, providing greater insight and personal growth.
For those beginning their journey in therapeutic practice, I also provide therapy to counselling students, helping them prepare for their future roles as therapists.
My first session
I offer a 15-minute Zoom or telephone call to discuss your circumstances and hopes for therapy. This initial conversation will allow us to explore what brought you to therapy and what you hope to gain from it. It's also an opportunity for you to see if we would work well together and to ask any questions you might have about my approach and the way I work.
During this call, we will discuss available times to suit your schedule, and you can decide if you would like to book a session. I invite you to visit my website for additional information.
To ensure that we work safely and ethically together, I ask that you complete a counselling agreement before we begin our sessions.
