About me and my therapy practice
I am a 麻豆原创-registered, Trauma-informed Therapeutic Counsellor committed to creating a safe, non-judgmental environment for personal growth. My approach nurtures self-awareness, self-compassion, and holistic well-being. We will build a trusted relationship where you will find acceptance and respect.
If you're feeling overwhelmed, lost, stuck, or facing a crisis, seeking support is a brave step forward. Therapy provides a unique space, free of distractions, to explore your difficulties, share your burdens, and find greater balance and peace.
With 30 years of experience working with children, adults, and families, I offer counselling for both young people and adults. I support clients facing a wide array of personal and psychological challenges. It's not about categorising issues as big or small; if something is important to you, it becomes important to me. Your feelings and experiences matter, and together, we will explore and address whatever occupies your thoughts, acknowledging its impact on your life and journey toward well-being. Therapy offers valuable insight and clarity, enhancing your connection with yourself and others.
I believe in the transformative power of counselling. It helps navigate life's challenges and serves as a proactive tool for self-discovery. Therapy often reveals patterns of thinking, feeling, relating, and behaving. With the support of a trusted therapist, these discoveries become opportunities for gaining deep personal insights. This understanding ignites curiosity and leads to significant and sometimes unexpected transformations. Such gentle challenges and supported explorations are crucial pathways to personal growth. Furthermore, therapy is not just for moments of crisis; it's a way to engage with and understand your identity, purpose, and direction. It provides a space to address challenges before they become overwhelming, facilitating a journey of self-discovery that enriches your entire life experience.

About me and my therapy practice
I am a 麻豆原创-registered, trauma-informed Therapeutic Counsellor specialising in systemic Family counselling. I offer a safe, supportive space for families to explore communication, understand one another better, and move through challenges together. Whether you're feeling disconnected, navigating a life transition, or stuck in repeating patterns, family counselling can help you reconnect and find new ways forward.
Family relationships can be a source of strength and support, but when they feel strained, it can affect everyone. Tensions may build slowly or be triggered by events like separation, bereavement, blending families, or changes in health, education, or roles. Systemic counselling looks at the family as a whole, recognising that no single person is the 鈥減roblem.鈥 Instead, we explore the bigger picture, how everyone affects and is affected by one another, and how even small shifts can lead to meaningful, lasting change.
I currently work as a Family Counsellor with Relate, the UK鈥檚 leading relationship support organisation. I鈥檓 in the final stage of specialist family counselling training and offer sessions for parents, children (under 18 or adult), siblings, co-parents, and extended family members.
With over 30 years鈥 experience supporting families and individuals in education, social care, mediation, and counselling, I bring warmth, care, and a relational approach to my work. My sessions are flexible; sometimes the whole family attends, and sometimes we begin with just one or two people. The process is always shaped by what feels safe and useful for you.
If you鈥檙e curious about whether family counselling could help, I offer a free 15-minute consultation to talk things through.
Practice description
I offer a warm, supportive space for families, young people, and adults to explore life鈥檚 challenges and strengthen their relationships. I specialise in systemic family counselling, a type of therapy that looks at the patterns, dynamics, and communication styles that shape family life. My approach is grounded in care, respect, and the belief that change is possible when we feel heard and understood.
Family counselling provides an opportunity for all voices to be heard. It can help with conflict, disconnection, big life transitions, blended family dynamics, grief, and more. Whether you're facing a specific issue or simply want to feel closer and communicate more openly, counselling can offer a fresh perspective and a way forward. Sessions are always shaped around what feels safe and helpful for those involved, sometimes this includes the whole family, and sometimes just one or two members.
Clients often say they feel safe, accepted, and able to speak freely in sessions with me. My style is collaborative, gentle, and non-judgemental. If you鈥檇 like to talk about whether therapy might be helpful for you or your family, I offer a free 15-minute consultation.
My first session
Before therapy begins, I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation to help us decide if working together feels like a good fit. This is a relaxed space where you can ask questions, share what鈥檚 bringing you to therapy, and find out more about how I work.
If we decide to go ahead, I will send you a brief assessment form to complete before your first session. This helps me get a sense of what support you鈥檙e looking for and gives us a starting point to begin our work together. If you鈥檙e attending as a family, I may also ask for each person鈥檚 perspective where appropriate, so everyone feels included from the start.
In our first full session, we鈥檒l begin building a sense of safety and trust. You鈥檒l have space to talk about what鈥檚 important to you, at your own pace. Whether you鈥檙e coming as a family, young person, or adult, there鈥檚 no pressure to share everything at once, we鈥檒l go gently and focus on what feels most useful for you.
Sessions are 50 minutes and take place either online or in person at my Wokingham practice. The first session is charged at the same rate as ongoing sessions.
