About me and my therapy practice
Finding the right therapist can feel daunting, especially if you’re already struggling with anxiety, low self-esteem, difficult experiences or simply feeling stuck. My aim is to offer a space where you can feel comfortable being yourself, without judgement, and where we can make sense of what you’re going through together.
As an experienced Integrative counsellor, I draw on different therapeutic approaches, including person-centred therapy, CBT, psychodynamic therapy and mindfulness. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, I tailor our work to you — your experiences, your needs and what you hope to get from therapy.
I work collaboratively with adults to explore thoughts, feelings and behaviours, and to understand patterns that may be affecting how you feel and relate to yourself or others. Together, we can develop greater self-awareness, find ways of coping with difficult emotions and work towards meaningful change.
You may be coming to therapy because you’re experiencing anxiety, low self-esteem, the effects of trauma or addiction, or because you’re going through a period of change and want some support in understanding yourself better. Whatever brings you to therapy, I believe you don’t have to have everything figured out before you begin.
I offer a safe, confidential and compassionate space where you can feel heard and respected. I will work at your pace, while gently supporting you to explore what may be holding you back and to build greater confidence, resilience and self-understanding.
I’m committed to continuing my professional development so that my practice remains informed by current therapeutic thinking and research. Most importantly, I believe therapy works best when we build a trusting relationship where you feel able to be open, understood and supported.
Practice description
Sessions are 50 minutes, online via Zoom.
Payments for online sessions are made by BACS or invoiced and required before the session.
Cancellations within 24 hours will still be charged at full rate.
My first session
We’ll begin with a brief telephone conversation, giving you the opportunity to tell me a little about what has brought you to therapy, what you’re hoping for, and any questions you may have. It’s also a chance for us to get a sense of whether you feel comfortable working together.
If we decide to begin therapy, we’ll arrange a convenient time for your first session. There’s no expectation that you’ll have everything worked out or know exactly where to start. We can take things at your pace and focus on what feels most important to you.
As our work progresses, I’ll regularly check in with you to make sure therapy continues to meet your needs and that we’re working towards what you hope to achieve. If your needs or circumstances change, we can adapt our approach together.
