About me and my therapy practice

As no two people are alike, we all need different things from therapy. Because of this, I use an integrative approach to counselling. As an integrative therapist, I have been trained in a variety of approaches to counselling, which means that our sessions can be very flexible, tailored to what you need at any time.

During sessions, I focus on building a relationship with my clients, as the relationship between client and therapist is the foundation upon which productive work is built. It is important that you feel safe and comfortable in sessions with me, and make this a priority.

I have experience working with a variety of complex issues, and take a non-judgemental approach, so you can feel safe that I will not be shocked by anything you wish to discuss, and that everything you tell me will remain confidential.

I have more 6+ years of experience working as a therapist, and more than 10 years of working in mental health.

Practice description

I believe that successful counselling is founded on a good quality relationship between therapist and client, so I offer an introductory first session where we can get to know each other, and decide if we want to work together.

I offer online, phone therapy, and in person sessions. Sessions are open-ended, meaning that we will have the flexibility to decide together how many sessions are best for your needs. This could range from just a few weeks to many years, the most important thing is finding what's best for you.

In person sessions will take place in my office in the Cambridge Science Park. I am also able to offer sessions in Ely and nr Huntingdon, please enquire for more details.

My first session

Our first session is a very important chance for us to see if we are a good fit working together. There is no pressure to continue after the first session, and sometimes trying a few different therapists can be a good idea when starting out, as it's important you find a therapist you think you can connect with.

During the session, I will ask you some questions about your personal history, any previous counselling experience and what brings you to therapy today. You will also have the chance to tell me any you think is important for me to know about you before we start working together.

We will end the session by talking about the counselling contract and potential next steps. I will then give you a few days to decide if you want to continue.

About me and my therapy practice

I believe we all come to points in our lives when we need some extra support. This could be due to recent trauma, a desire to work through events in our past, the need for some extra support as we face life dilemmas, or just the desire to talk things through in a kind and empathetic space.

I take an integrative approach to counselling, meaning that my approach can be adapted to any different needs that you may present with. I have experience working with a variety of complex issues.

I take a completely non-judgemental approach, so you can feel safe that I will not be shocked by anything you wish to discuss, and that everything you tell me will remain confidential.

Practice description

I offer online, phone therapy, and in person sessions. Each session lasts 50 minutes. Our work together is open-ended, meaning that we will have the flexibility to decide together how many sessions are best for your needs. This could range from just a few weeks to many years, the most important thing is finding what's best for you.

My first session

I believe that successful counselling is founded on a good quality relationship between therapist and client, so I offer an introductory first session where we can get to know each other, and decide if we want to work together.

In our first session, I will typically cover confidentiality, explain how the counselling process works and introduce you to myself.  I will have some pre-prepared questions about your history and what brings you to counselling, but the way this works is very flexible, and I find that each session varies according to what the individual client wants to get out of therapy. The session will end with us discussing how to move forward. I will always give you time to consider whether you want to commit to moving forwards with therapy together, as it's important that you take time to find the right therapist for you.
