About me and my therapy practice

My passion is in supporting others in realising their own potential. As an integrative therapist, I tailor my approach according to your unique history and needs. The approach that I take is to be collaborative and client led, meaning that I will follow your lead in terms of direction but may redirect in line with your goals. In our sessions, I'll want to learn about how you perceive yourself and the world around you and exploring both present and past. I work by creating a warm, empathic relationship where I ensure that you feel heard, respected and accepted, but also challenged. I support you to explore your own thoughts, feelings and emotions whilst also providing insights to catalyze change.

My main approaches to support you are person-centred, psychodynamic and solution-focused therapy which will be tailored based on your goals are and your preferred style of support. For those seeking directiveness to change behaviour, we'll work on reframing thoughts to less disruptive alternatives and for those seeking understanding, we'll reflect on how your past impacts your present, and consider what might help you reach your potential in the present.

Practice description

I offer both short-term contracts and longer-term, open ended contracts.

My aim is to support you in deepening your understanding of yourself and the the world around you, to inspire change to live authentically. I have supported clients from a variety of backgrounds working through anxiety, depression, loss and grief and relationship difficulties. As I believe that you are the expert of your own life, I will support you by providing a space to reflect and challenge yourself by asking questions to make sense of your experiences.

My approach will be tailored according to your unique history and needs. In our sessions, I'll want to learn about how you perceive yourself and the world around you and exploring both present and past. I work by creating a warm, empathic relationship where I ensure that you feel heard, respected and accepted, but also challenged.

My first session

Before the first session, I offer an initial phone consultation. This is a free 15-20 minute phone call and is an opportunity for us to think about how we might be able to work together and for you to ask any questions you might have.

Our first session will feel different from subsequent sessions due to this being an assessment session where we will discuss what brought you to counselling and expectations for therapy. I will lead with fact-finding questions to learn about you, your experiences and your needs which will then be held in mind as I tailor my approach according to your unique history and set goals. Once we have an arrangement regarding the date, time and format of our sessions, sessions will be led by you for the most part.
