About me and my therapy practice

I am a qualified Integrative Therapist who offers a warm, empathic relationship where I ensure that you feel heard, accepted and respected, but also challenged. My work supports you to explore your own thoughts, feelings and emotions whilst also providing insights to catalyze change.

My passion is in supporting others discover their own potential. You may be feeling unsure or have a reached a point in your life where you are seeking ways to feel able to live, not just exist. While I may not be able to provide answers or solutions, I may be able to sit beside you whilst you seek out the sustainable answers and solutions that make sense to you.

Practice description

I offer both long term and open ended contracts. As an integrative therapist, I tailor my approach according to your unique history, needs and preferred style of support. The approach that I take is to be collaborative and client led, meaning that I will follow your lead in terms of direction but may redirect in line with your goals. In our sessions, I'll want to learn about how you perceive yourself and the world around you and exploring both present and past.

I draw from a variety of psychotherapeutic principles including person-centred, psychodynamic, existential, cognitive-behavioural, solution-focused therapy and more. Rather than being bound to a singular modality, I like to blend theory in a way that is helpful to you.

My aim is to support you in deepening your understanding of yourself and the the world around you and to inspire change to live more authentically. As I believe that you are the expert of your own life, I will support you by providing a space to reflect and challenge yourself by asking questions to make sense of your experiences.

I have supported clients from a variety of backgrounds working through anxiety, depression, loss and grief, relationship difficulties, low-self worth/self-esteem and navigating transitional periods in life.

My first session

Before the first session, I offer an initial phone consultation. This is a free 15-20 minute phone call which is an opportunity for us to think about how we might be able to work together and for you to ask any questions you might have.

Our first session will feel different from subsequent sessions due to this being an assessment session where we will discuss what brought you to counselling and expectations for therapy. I will lead with fact-finding questions to learn about you, your experiences and your needs which will then be held in mind as I tailor my approach according to your unique history and set goals. Once we have an arrangement regarding the date, time and format of our sessions, sessions will be led by you for the most part.
