I work face to face on Monday afternoons near Clapham Junction but am also available on Tuesdays and Thursdays and on Monday evenings online or by phone.About me and my therapy practice
Are you dealing with a loss or major change in your life such as a diagnosis of autism, ADHD or cancer? Are you feeling high levels of anxiety or overwhelmed by trauma from your past or from a current relationship? Are you experiencing family difficulties or realising your values are different from the ones you grew up?
I am an integrative counsellor which means I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches and techniques that are most appropriate for you as the client.
The key to successful outcomes in counselling is the quality of the relationship between the counsellor and the client so I offer a friendly, empathic and authentic approach with some gentle challenge when needed!
If appropriate, we may explore your early life experiences and relationships to better understand your current way of being.
Practice description
I work mostly online using Zoom as I feel this gives greater flexibility to access counselling and it allows you to be in a setting where you feel most comfortable, however I also have some limited in person availability based near Clapham Junction.
I have worked as a teacher, a psychologist and a manager. I am a mother (of two teenage children and one needy cockapoo) and have lived part of my life in the Middle East.
My counselling process will help you to explore the sometimes painful feelings, past experiences and stuck patterns of behaviour that may be holding you back.
As a trained Educational Psychologist, I have a sound understanding of how additional needs such as autism and ADHD can impact your daily life and relationships. I also have extensive experience of working with bereavement, trauma, work stress, problematic family relationships and living with cancer.
I am passionate about helping you better understand yourself to bring about greater self-acceptance and change to lead a happier and more authentic life.
My first session
I offer a free 15-minute initial phone consultation. This allows you to share why you are seeking support and to ask any questions.
Following this, we may set up an initial 50-minute assessment session, which will be charged, and from there we can decide whether we will continue to work together.
I offer a concessionary rate of £50 to students and those on low incomes.
Types of therapy
Person centred, Psychodynamic, Relational
Clients I work with
Adults, Older adults
How I deliver therapy
