About me and my therapy practice
"I offer a kind, compassionate space where you can talk openly, feel heard, and begin to make sense of your experiences. Whether you’re facing anxiety, stress, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, bereavement, or low self-esteem, you don’t have to go through it alone. I’ll support you in finding practical ways to feel calmer, stronger, and more connected in your daily life"
I’m Luke, an accredited counsellor (MÂ鶹Դ´, Accred) and EMDR therapist (PG Cert) (EMDRUK) with over 18 years of experience supporting people with their mental health. Alongside my private practice, I have experience within the NHS in staff support and clinical health psychology, and I am also a visiting lecturer in counselling studies at a local University. These roles have shown me both the courage it takes to reach out — and the real change that’s possible when people feel truly heard and supported.
Practice description
I offer sessions face-to-face in Stourbridge or online. To start with, I offer a complimentary 20-minute phone consultation, allowing you to share your thoughts and determine if I’m the right fit for you. The quickest way to reach me is through the contact form on this page, my website, or by email — I always aim to reply the same day (please check your junk folder if you don’t see my response). If you prefer to call, you’re welcome to leave a message, and I’ll get back to you within 24 hours.
Taking the first step can feel daunting, but you don’t have to do it alone. If you’re ready, I’d be honoured to walk alongside you as you work towards lasting, positive change.
My first session
Your first session is a meet and greet and a chance for you to see how I work and for me to understand what has brought you to counselling. This session gives you space to talk at your own pace about what’s important to you, and it isn’t about having all the answers or “getting it right.
I’ll introduce myself and explain how I work, including confidentiality, how sessions are structured, and what you can expect going forward. We’ll talk about your reasons for coming, any goals you have, and agree on the practical details (our contract) together — such as session length, frequency, boundaries, and any questions you have. This helps make sure the work feels safe, clear, and collaborative.
You can decide at the end of this session whether you’d like to continue. There’s no obligation — what matters most is that you feel comfortable and supported in taking this first step.
