About me and my therapy practice

Hello/Shwmae.

There are times when life can feel overwhelming and knowing where to turn can be difficult. As a qualified counsellor, I offer a warm, safe, and non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace.

I work using a Person-Centred approach, aiming to help you feel heard and understood while supporting you to increase self-awareness, develop coping strategies, and find your own strengths to manage the challenges you are facing.

I offer online and telephone counselling sessions, providing flexible support to suit your needs. I am committed to creating a trusting and confidential therapeutic relationship, where you can talk openly without fear of judgement.

Practice description

Reaching out for counselling takes courage, and it can feel daunting when you are unsure what to expect. I aim to make the process as comfortable and supportive as possible, walking alongside you with kindness and empathy, and gently challenging you when appropriate to deepen self-exploration. Feeling safe is essential, and I am committed to building a trusting and confidential therapeutic relationship where you can speak freely without fear of judgement. Every individual is unique, and your experiences matter.

I have experience working with adults and currently volunteer with Pembrokeshire Counselling Service, supporting clients both face-to-face and online. I am a fully qualified counsellor and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (Â鶹ԭ´´), adhering to their ethical framework in all of my work.

My own experience of counselling over 30 years ago inspired me to train as a counsellor, I understand how important it is to have a safe space to be yourself, and that is what I hope to offer you.

In addition to my counselling work, I have volunteered as a bereavement support worker and worked closely with young people and families as a Family Engagement Officer. I am passionate about ongoing professional development and continued learning to ensure I provide the best possible support.

In my private practice, I offer online and telephone counselling and ask that you have a safe and confidential space available during our sessions as we work together.

Reaching out to chat is the first step in seeking support, and I will gladly share information about my practice and what you can expect from our work together.

My first session

Our first appointment is an opportunity for us to get to know one another. We will talk about what has brought you to counselling, your goals for therapy, and any questions or concerns you may have. This session also allows you to get a sense of my approach and decide whether it feels like a good fit for you. There is no pressure to share more than you feel comfortable with—we will move at a pace that feels right for you.

We can arrange further appointments if you are happy to proceed.
