About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I’m Paula. I’m an experienced counsellor based in Didsbury. People seek counselling for all kinds of reasons. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stressed, stuck or worried about something that is happening in your life, or just not coping and know something needs to change - you are not alone and you don’t have to face these feelings by yourself. I will offer you a safe and supportive space where you can be fully yourself, free to express your thoughts and feelings without judgement and begin to make sense of your emotions in a confidential setting. Whatever you’re facing, you don’t have to do it alone, I’ll provide compassionate support towards emotional healing, personal growth and lasting changes.
What I can help with
Whether you’re healing from trauma, or struggling with stress, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, major life transitions or bereavement, I will be alongside you in a gentle, caring and compassionate way.
I have a keen interest in helping individuals going through relationship difficulties. Whether you are facing challenges in your intimate partnership, family dynamic, or friendships, I am here to help you make sense of what is happening, explore the emotional and psychological impact and find a way forward. Is the relationship making you unhappy and having a negative impact on your life? Some of these issues can cause feelings of guilt, shame and anger, leading to poor communication and boundaries. I will listen, support you and help you gain a better understanding of your feelings and thought processes.
If you are facing a loss, illness or bereavement, I have extensive experience and additional training in bereavement counselling and I work alongside a bereavement support organisation. I understand that grief is a deeply personal experience affecting each person in their own unique way.
Practice description
I have been where you are as a client and can fully appreciate how challenging it can be to find the right fit, but I also know what a wonderful, rewarding process it can be when you do. As a person centred counsellor I will wholeheartedly offer a safe, empathetic, confidential and non-judgemental environment and I will welcome you with respect and acceptance. I feel honoured to be a counsellor and I will be alongside you on your journey in a supportive and caring way.
My practice is based in Didsbury in a private, comfortable and calming setting. I offer face to face sessions. I also offer remote sessions via Zoom for people further afield.
My first session
Please contact me to arrange a free telephone or online consultation to help you decide whether I’m the right counsellor for you.
