About me and my therapy practice

I am an Integrative Psychotherapist and Counsellor working with adults and young people. My approach is grounded in the belief that meaningful change happens within a safe, trusting therapeutic relationship—one where you feel heard, respected, and met without judgement.

Working integratively allows me to draw from a range of therapeutic approaches and bring together relevant elements according to your individual needs, experiences, and pace. Rather than fitting you into a particular model, our work is shaped around who you are and what you bring. I work relationally, with warmth, curiosity, and authenticity, offering a confidential space where it feels possible to slow down and begin to listen to yourself more closely.

I place strong emphasis on creating an environment that feels emotionally safe and containing. Empathy, non-judgement, and authenticity are central to how I work, alongside clear professional boundaries and confidentiality. Together, these create the conditions for honest exploration and meaningful therapeutic work.

I have experience working across a range of settings, including education and the substance misuse sector, which has provided me with a broad client base and a depth of understanding around complex emotional needs, life transitions, and the impact of early experiences. This experience informs my work while remaining responsive to the unique person in front of me

Practice description

Sometimes life can feel full of complexity and difficult decisions. You may find yourself carrying experiences from earlier in life, patterns that no longer serve you, or emotions that feel confusing, overwhelming, or hard to name. These experiences can affect how you relate to yourself, others, and the world around you.

Counselling offers a place to pause, take stock, and explore these experiences in a way that feels manageable and supported. It provides space to reflect on what has shaped you, what feels heavy, and what is asking for your attention now.

I do not offer advice or quick solutions. Instead, I work alongside you, bearing witness to your experiences and supporting you to make sense of them at your own pace. Therapy is a collaborative process, one that honours your resilience while gently exploring areas of difficulty with care and curiosity.

The work is not about fixing or changing who you are, but about developing greater understanding, self-compassion, and clarity. Over time, this can support a stronger sense of connection to yourself and allow space for new ways of being, relating, and responding to life.

This is a space where you can arrive just as you are, without pressure or expectation.

My first session

The first session is an opportunity for us to meet and begin to explore what has brought you to therapy. We will talk about what you are hoping for, any concerns you may have, and how therapy might support you. There is no requirement to share more than feels comfortable, and the session will move at a pace that feels right for you.

I may ask some gentle questions to gain a sense of your background and current circumstances, but the focus is on creating a safe, collaborative space and helping you decide whether working together feels like the right fit
