About me and my therapy practice
Sometimes even getting as far as trying to find a therapist can feel overwhelming, but it is half the journey. And if you're reading this, then you've made it that far. You have already found courage and are beginning to find a new lease of life for yourself.
I believe that therapy is an invaluable form of self-care that we gift to ourselves. The space to explore our inner selves, lives, worlds, and conflicts, with the aim of bringing all of pieces together to work for us instead of against us. It provides a non-judgemental space to hear our minds and to learn to love ourselves even with our imperfections.
This might sound almost impossible, but I know it's not because I have experienced it personally, and have had the honour of watching my clients reach the same goal.
I am a registered member of the Â鶹Դ´, BPS, and UKCP, and adhere to their codes of ethics and practice. I am fully insured and hold an enhanced DBS certificate to work with adolescents and adults. I hold a Master's in Psychology and a Doctorate in Counseling Psychology.
Before practicing as a therapist, I spent decades working in secondary and adult education, which gave me a clear insight into a person's capacity to change using new knowledge and understanding.
Practice description
I do not believe that any two people are the same. Therefore, I have trained in many different ways of working with people, to try and ensure that each person is met in their place of need.
I work with Existential, CBT, Psychodynamic, Person-Centered, IFS, EMDR, Inner-child, Transactional Analysis, Short-term, and Long-term therapy.
I aim to give each client a growing sense of self-worth and self-confidence that comes from deeper self-knowledge.
My first session
A first session is an opportunity for us to get a sense of each other and how the dynamic would work.
In this session, I will be curious to understand what brought you to therapy, whilst at the same time hearing a brief overview of your life so far.
We will discuss what the process might be like for you and what you can expect.
It is also an opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have about the process.

About me and my therapy practice
What's most important to me is the person in front of me and trying to be with them in their world.
More than anything, therapy is about the relationship between the therapist and the client. It is this relationship that can help you to develop yourself from your potential to live the life you actually want to live.
I respect people for who they are; their past, present, and the future they hope for.
I have been trained to work existentially, psychodynamically, with CBT, EMDR, and as a coach.
Sometimes it is hard to reach out and begin a therapeutic journey. I respect the difficulty and bravery it takes to make that step.
I believe that therapy can lay the foundations for a new life, with a new self, to build a new future.
This is a non-judgmental space where you begin to learn the art of not judging yourself, and from there to be able to fully love yourself.
Practice description
Being in the therapy room is a step out of everyday life.
It is an opportunity for you to step out of the busyness of our day-to-day. It is a time to focus on hearing your own inner voice and to spend time with the real you.
It's a place to be in a calm environment, to respect your own needs, and to invest time into bettering your life.

About me and my therapy practice
The role of supervisor is so important to the safety and processing of our client work.
I believe that the supervisor should fill several roles, and I aim to offer these to my supervisees.
- To ensure client safety.
- To be able to hear the voice of the client being presented.
- To understand how the work might be affecting the supervisee personally, and how to work with that.
- To form a collaboration of minds with the supervisee for the sake of the client.
- To help the supervisee grow in their practice through the encounter.
