About me and my therapy practice
I am a relational psychodynamic psychotherapist.
My way of working is collaborative: we think and feel our way through things together. I draw primarily on relational and psychodynamic approaches, with a particular emphasis on attachment theory.
Common themes I work with include:
* Exploring how unconscious processes shape our lives and relationships
* Understanding how past experiences are replayed in the present
* Feeling stuck in recurring patterns of thoughts, feelings, or behaviour
* Experiencing difficulties with intimacy and distance
* Navigating life transitions and developmental shifts across the lifespan
* Questioning meaning, purpose, and direction in life.
The therapeutic relationship offers a safe and reflective space to explore how you relate to others and how your attachment patterns and relational difficulties show up in everyday life. This process can help deepen your understanding of yourself and others more deeply.
I work individually with adults, couples and other relationship structures. I am couples trained and welcome working with couples.
I am also trained and have experience working with CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy), ACT (Acceptance and commitment therapy), CFT (Compassion focussed therapy), peri and post-natal mental health and family therapy. These can be integrated into our work if and when useful.
