About me and my therapy practice
I provide online therapy. Some people have found telephone therapy whilst walking works for them.
I aim to help people gain greater perspectives and the relief that comes with understanding yourself and being understood. I am client led, meaning I believe you know what is most useful for you. That said, I know starting therapy sessions may be daunting, so I will help and guide as needed. We are a team trying to work things out together.
I am integratively trained, using a combination of theories to find the best fit for the individual. I will take my lead from you and check in periodically that you are getting what you need. I have a firm basis in person centred counselling and I find working psychodynamically can be helpful when trying to understand origins of thoughts, feelings or behaviour.
Being heard and understood can be so empowering that things may start shifting when you experience that, regardless of which counselling theory is used.
I work in a trauma informed way and have completed further training in this area. I have also completed further training in: ADHD, supporting adult children of emotionally immature parents and am currently part-way through level 3 British Sign Language.
Wheelchair accessibility: We will talk about mobility needs and route planning in our intro video call to make sure routes are suitable.
Practice description
I am a qualified and registered therapist (Â鶹Դ´). I have provided counselling in an NHS service, a family support service and for an online, low cost service. I have experience providing short term and longer term therapy.
I am trained in the Rewind Technique which helps reduce the impact of trauma on daily lives. This may mean a reduction of flashbacks, better sleep, less intrusive thoughts, reducing the impact of phobias, less emotional reactions to triggers and the ability to re-engage with activities that may have been difficult after a traumatic event.
My first session
Before we decide to work together, you are welcome to have a free call so we can introduce ourselves and see if we would like to book in for a session. I can answer your questions and you can give an overview of what you would like support with. There may be occasions when I am not the best match for you and in those instances, I will try and guide you to an organisation or professional that may be suitable.
After the call, if we decide to work together, I will email you the counselling contract/ agreement for you to review which we will look at together in the first session. The first session includes a small amount of admin like gathering some basic details.

That said, I know starting therapy sessions may be daunting, so I will help and guide as needed. We are a team trying to work things out together.
I am integratively trained meaning I use a variety of different types of therapy. What that looks like in practice: I follow your lead, I look out for impacts of trauma and disconnection and I notice unhelpful thinking patterns and offer the opportunity to understand them further. I hope to support clients to become more integrated. Meaning the mind and body are working in tune with each other, rather than, for example, the body being silenced and ignored.
Most people who come to therapy work on connection with themselves and others. Outdoor therapy lends an additional element for connection with the changing environment as we sit or walk.
Working together, we will combine our thoughts and skills to deepen your understanding of what’s going on and create a shift.

Wheelchair accessible: We can plan a wheelchair accessible route for outdoor therapy.
