About me and my therapy practice

Couples and Relationship Counselling

For individuals and couples struggling with boundaries, connection and communication.
Online counselling sessions and in-person counselling in Godalming, Surrey.

Does this sound like you?

You struggle to make decisions, feel like you’re always getting it wrong, and keep finding yourself in unfulfilling, distant or high-conflict relationships.

You might identify as a people pleaser, be neurodivergent (e.g. Autistic or ADHD), or experience anxiety in relationships. Perhaps relationships feel fragile and take constant effort to maintain, or you walk away when things get intense because you expect them to fall apart anyway.

Maybe you’ve experienced relational/emotional abuse or trauma. Repeatedly told your memory is wrong, being blamed for things going wrong or feeling responsible for other people’s happiness, behaviour or choices. This might have come from your parents, partners or friends.

These experiences can create doubt, uncertainty and confusion, and often teach us to stop listening to our own needs and feelings. Instead, we focus on keeping the peace, which can leave you feeling abandoned, rejected or resentful, stuck in cycles of burnout, or unsure of who you are anymore.

How I Can Help

As a couples and relationship counsellor, I work with both individuals and couples to:

  • Practice compassion for yourself and others
  • Set clear, respectful boundaries
  • Build authentic relationships with reciprocal care
  • Develop trust and safety that allow emotional and physical intimacy to grow

Your relationship with yourself affects your relationships with others. As you learn to nurture and care for yourself, it can become easier to reduce burnout, build confidence and create a sense of safety that isn’t reliant on the wellbeing of others.

If you’d like to book a session or a short introductory call, get in touch and I can we can find a good time to speak.

Practice description

If you have questions and would like to speak before you book, email me or use the contact form to arrange a short free call with no strings attached. When you're ready and feel like we'd be a good fit, we can arrange your first full session.

I offer online counselling, email counselling and in-person sessions from Godalming, Surrey

Sessions are usually held weekly, depending on the type of therapy you're seeking sessions are different lengths:

  •  Individual sessions lasts 50 minutes
  •  The first couples session is usually 90 minutes
  • Ongoing Couples Sessions are usually 60 minutes but if preferred you can continue to have 90 minute sessions or a mix.

My first session

Our first session is a chance to get to know each other better and begin to get and idea of how well use our time together.

We’ll cover the practical stuff like what to do if you’re running late or need to reschedule. I will answer any questions you might have about what to expect and how counselling works.

Some of our time might be talking about your life, this might include your past and family relationships. If you e had counselling before I might ask what was helpful or what wasn’t.

You’ll also have the time to share more about what has been happening and what you’d like to achieve or change by coming to counselling.

By the end of the session we’ll begin forming a plan for how I can support you and what that could look like.

Online Counselling

I usually use Zoom for Online sessions and you'll receive a link in advance of our session. At the start we might spend a little time setting things up to make sure we can see and hear each other. We can also spend time getting the right camera distance that feels comfortable for you. Research has shown that online counselling is just as effective as in-person session, with the added benefit of being accessible from anywhere with privacy and a strong wi-fi connection.

In-person Counselling in Godalming, Surrey

I use a room within a holistic centre, the room is at the top of a single flight of stairs in a calming and warm environment. There are toilets on both floors and you're welcome to bring a drink, I will make sure there are tissues and water available too. When its time for your appointment I'll come down to the waiting room and show you up to the room.

Email Counselling

Email counselling is a way of accessing therapy through written communication. You'll have a time and day each week to send your email by and I'll have a time (usually within 48 hours of yours) to respond.

Email counselling offers the opportunity to reflect on what feels important to you and have the time to process and consider how you'd like to express this

About me and my therapy practice

When your relationship feels lonely or full of conflict it can leave you feeling rejected, confused or anxious that it might not last.

Many people struggle to communicate about sensitive topics like unmet needs, family issues or any topic that feels vulnerable. Even well intentioned conversation can turn into an argument or hurt feelings. This might leave you both avoiding certain topics or even each other, adding new tensions on top of old ones.

Perhaps you're navigating neurodivergence, like Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, PDA or Dyspraxia. If so, you might feel like you and your partner are speaking different languages. Trying to understand each others perspective can be challenging when you live in different worlds.

If you're struggling with relationship issues, you're not alone and you don't have to stay stuck.

Couples counselling can help you:

• Improve communication with your partner

• Repair trust after betrayal

• Navigate family issues

• Understand neurodivergence in relationships.

If you'd like to discuss how counselling could help you, get in touch and arrange a free call (no strings attached) or if you're ready we can book your first session.
