About me and my therapy practice

I support clients with a wide range of issues and goals, including:

  • Difficulty in relationships (with family, partner, children, etc.)
  • Divorce and separation
  • Work-related stress
  • Traumatic life events
  • Domestic abuse and coercive control
  • Finding your authenticity
  • Deepening spirituality
  • Assertiveness
  • Boundaries
  • Neurodiversity, (including ADHD and Autism)
  • Supporting your neurodiverse child (including helping you to advocate for their educational needs)
  • Finding meaning and purpose

I use an integrative approach, which means I mix and match from the following:

  • Person-centred counselling (I help you process your thoughts and feelings)
  • Transactional-Analysis (TA) - to help with interpersonal relationships
  • Gestalt - An embodied, whole-person approach that won't reduce you to your symptoms
  • CBT - Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, a more structured approach as used in the NHS.  It is particularly effective for anxiety and depression, fears and worries.
  • Internal Family Systems (IFS) - An approach that looks at the core-beliefs and 'parts' of you that want to behave in ways that no longer serve you.
  • Trauma-informed counselling - To safely explore past trauma.
  • Skills Building - New skills to help you get through difficult situations.
  • Therapeutic Coaching - Working together to help you achieve goals.
  • Solution focussed brief therapy - An agreed run of sessions with focus on a particular issue you want to resolve
  • Single-session therapy - if you have a very specific issues to explore in just one session
  • Rewind therapy - a two/three session treatment for PTSD flashbacks.

About me and my therapy practice

I am available privately for to supervise counsellors, life-coaches and psychology professionals, as well as restorative supervision, for those working in emotionally intensive roles such as teaching, nursing and care work.

I am both spiritual and pragmatic.  These may seem like contradictory extremes but I personally find my approach transitions naturally between the two and I simply adapt to client needs.

Pragmatic supervision

Sometimes supervision needs to be hands-on and practical.  I am experienced in brief, solution-focussed counselling and a qualified life-coach, so can use these skills to help supervisees.  I can help you resolve an ethical dilemma, develop and expand your private practice, prepare you for accreditation, or explore strategies to help with a specific client presentation.

Spiritual supervision

My own spiritually is evolving and I am enjoying the journey.  In supervision, drawing on this involves getting out of our heads and into a more somatic and contemplative space in which we can be curious about what emerges.   I often draw on the spiritual side IFS, which tends to resonate well with spiritually minded practitioners.

Supervision frameworks

My supervision practice integrates the CLEAR coaching framework (Hawkins) with the Seven-Eyed Model of Supervision (Hawkins and Shohet). I draw on complementary frameworks where helpful, such as the Cyclical Model (Page and Wosket) and the CBT Model of Supervision (Milne). I view supervision as a collaborative and equal relationship that balances the needs of your clients with you own needs as a practitioner.

My therapeutic roots

As a counsellor, my integrative base includes Person-Centred, Transactional Analysis (TA) and Gestalt therapy.  I also integrate CBT, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Trauma-informed, Rewind technique, Neuro-affirming, ACT, DBT and Psychodynamic approaches.
