Features

  • Flexible hours available
  • Wheelchair accessible office

Availability

I offer sessions both online and in person from several London locations, including Angel/Farringdon, West Hampstead/Kilburn and Burnt Oak/Edgware.

Sessions last 50 minutes and are priced at £75 for individuals and £90 for couples.

About me and my therapy practice

My name is Jay Warcup and I am a qualified Psychotherapist and Psychotherapeutic Counsellor. I hold an MSc in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy and a diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling.

I aim to offer a safe, supportive and collaborative space for individuals and couples to explore emotional difficulties, relational patterns, and life challenges.

Over the years, I’ve worked with a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, trauma (including childhood trauma), low self-esteem, loss and bereavement, and relationship difficulties. I understand how these experiences can affect our sense of self, our relationships, and our ability to engage with life fully — and I work with clients to bring about lasting, meaningful change.

Practice description

My therapeutic approach is rooted in Relational Transactional Analysis, which combines an understanding of how past experiences shape current patterns with a strong focus on the healing potential of the therapeutic relationship itself. I believe in working together to uncover and understand the underlying dynamics that might be keeping you stuck, while also supporting you in developing new ways of relating to yourself and others.

If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply curious about beginning therapy, I invite you to reach out for an initial conversation to see how we might work together.

My first session

Research shows that one of the most important factors in the success of therapy is the quality of the relationship between client and therapist. For this reason, it is important that you feel comfortable when choosing a psychotherapist. People often have an instinctive sense of whether a therapist is someone they might be able to trust and open up to, and I believe it is important to pay attention to this feeling when deciding who is right for you.

Our first meeting will be an initial 50-minute consultation, where we can begin to explore what brings you to therapy and whether psychotherapy may be helpful for you. This session can take place in person or online.

It is an opportunity for us to meet, for you to tell me a little about yourself and the difficulties you may be experiencing. It also allows you to get a sense of how I work and whether you feel comfortable continuing. You are welcome to ask any questions about the type of therapy I offer, and there is no obligation to continue after the first session if you decide it is not the right fit for you.

Abuse, ADD / ADHD, Anger management, Anxiety, Autism spectrum, Bereavement, Child related issues, Cultural issues, Depression, Identity issues, Infertility, LGBTQ+ counselling, Loss, Men's issues, Mood disorder, Neurodiversity, Post-traumatic stress, Redundancy, Relationships, Self esteem, Sex-related issues, Sexual identity, Sexuality, Stress, Trauma, Work related issues
