About me and my therapy practice
I’m passionate about helping my clients find their strengths, believe in themselves, and lead happier more fulfilled lives. Therapy is not just about improving yourself; it’s also about letting go of the version of you that you created to cope with life’s challenges. Sometimes, in tough times, we lose touch with who we really are.
I’m a therapist living in Manchester, but I grew up in Wales and have a mixed background of Black African and Indian heritage. My desire to become a therapist comes from my own life experiences. Like many people, I have faced trauma, sadness, and loss. I've learned that we can't truly be our best selves when we’re burdened by unresolved issues. I carried these feelings for a long time, and I'm really thankful for the help I received to lighten that load.
My goal is to provide that same support to my clients. I’ve been working in therapy and counselling for over five years, and I’m dedicated to creating a safe space where clients can talk about their challenges, realise their potential, and live fulfilling lives.
Practice description
I practice a person-centred approach, which means I work closely with clients to understand their feelings and help them build a strong sense of self. I believe in tackling issues with kindness, openness, and compassion, working together with my clients on their journey. My specialisms are focused on helping survivors of abuse and those navigating romantic relationship issues and issues of race and identity.
I offer a friendly and welcoming environment where we can explore how to work together. We'll start by talking about what led you to seek therapy and what you want to achieve. The collaborative side of our work is important, it is key to mention that to get the best out of your experience, you will need to commit and put the time and effort into this work, inside and outside of our sessions.
My first session
How do we start working together?
If you're interested in working with me, just send me an email! We can chat about how we might work together. I offer a free 15-minute call so we can get to know each other, talk about your experiences of therapy, share any concerns you might have, and see if I'm the right fit for you before scheduling a first session.
How long do sessions last?
A therapy session lasts 50 minutes, and everything we talk about is confidential.
How many sessions can I have?
I offer online therapy through video or phone calls to people across the U.K., and I meet clients in person in Manchester (M1 2AP). I support both short & long-term therapy options, but I won’t prescribe how many sessions you need. This is something we can work through together and can be led by you, your comfortability and progress
How do we wrap up our sessions?
When you feel like you've accomplished what you wanted to from therapy, we can talk about finishing up and end our sessions in a way that feels comfortable for you.
