About me and my therapy practice

You may be here because your relationship feels stuck.

Perhaps you鈥檙e having the same argument again and again. One of you feels unheard; the other feels criticised or shut out. You might love each other deeply, yet feel increasingly distant, misunderstood or exhausted by conflict.

Even strong relationships can get pulled into painful cycles.

Often beneath the tension there is hurt 鈥 and a longing to feel close, secure and understood again.

I specialise in working with couples who feel caught in these patterns. In our work together, we slow things down and look carefully at what happens between you. Not to decide who is right or wrong, but to understand the cycle that keeps taking over.

When couples can see the pattern clearly, it becomes something you face together rather than something that divides you.

Reconnection is possible 鈥 even when things have felt heavy for some time.

Individual Work

I also work with adults who are living with the longer-term impact of childhood experiences that may not have looked obviously traumatic from the outside.

Many of the people who come to see me describe their childhood as 鈥渇ine鈥 or even happy. They don鈥檛 want to criticise their parents. And yet, emotionally, something may have been missing.

Perhaps one or both parents were emotionally unavailable. Feelings weren鈥檛 always acknowledged. You may have learned to cope quietly, to be the responsible one, or not to need too much.

Often there is a quiet belief underneath things:

鈥淚鈥檓 not quite good enough.鈥

Or, 鈥淚 might be too much.鈥

That tension can shape how you relate to others 鈥 in your friendships, your work, and your intimate relationships.

There is nothing 鈥渨rong鈥 with you. Many of the ways you cope once helped you adapt. Therapy offers space to understand those patterns so they no longer quietly shape your present.

Practice description

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, especially if you鈥檙e used to managing on your own or keeping the peace.

I offer a calm, steady and boundaried space where you can speak openly and feel heard. We move at a pace that feels manageable, without pressure to 鈥済et it right.鈥

If you鈥檙e unsure whether this is the right step, you鈥檙e welcome to arrange an initial conversation to see how it feels to talk together.

I offer a free 20-minute introductory call. This is a chance to ask any questions, talk a little about what鈥檚 been going on for you 鈥 or for you both 鈥 and get a sense of whether working together feels like a good fit. There鈥檚 no pressure to commit; it鈥檚 simply a gentle way to begin.

You鈥檙e very welcome to get in touch.

About me and my therapy practice

Life can feel heavy and confusing 鈥 especially when you find yourself doubting your own feelings or wondering why certain patterns keep repeating.

Many of the people I work with struggle with anxiety, self-doubt, and a quiet sense of not feeling fully comfortable in their own skin. You might replay conversations, seek reassurance to feel steady, or find it hard to trust your own judgement.

These experiences rarely appear without reason. Often they began as ways of staying connected, safe or valued in relationships that felt critical, unpredictable or emotionally unavailable. You don鈥檛 need to arrive ready to blame anyone or label your past.

I specialise in working with adults living with the longer-term impact of emotional neglect, relational trauma, narcissistic or alcoholic parenting, domestic abuse and loss. Together, we explore how earlier experiences may still be shaping your relationship with others 鈥 and with yourself.

There is nothing 鈥渨rong鈥 with you. Many of the ways you adapted once made sense. Therapy offers space to understand those patterns without shame, so you can feel more secure and at ease in who you are.

Couples Work

I also work with couples who feel close to breaking point.

You may be having the same painful arguments again and again. Conversations escalate or shut down completely. One or both of you may feel unheard, criticised, rejected or alone. You might love each other deeply 鈥 yet feel exhausted by the tension between you.

In our work, we slow these moments down and look carefully at what happens when things begin to unravel. Rather than deciding who is right or wrong, we focus on understanding the pattern that takes over.

Even when things feel fragile, it is possible to rebuild safety and connection. When couples begin to see the cycle clearly, it becomes something you can face together rather than something that pulls you apart.

Practice description

Starting therapy can feel like a significant step 鈥 particularly if you are used to coping alone, minimising your needs, or keeping the peace in relationships.

I provide a calm, thoughtful and boundaried space where we move at a pace that feels manageable. Over time, clients often find they develop a kinder internal voice, clearer boundaries and a stronger sense of self.

We move at a pace that feels manageable, with no pressure to explain everything perfectly or 鈥済et it right.鈥

If you鈥檙e unsure whether this feels like the right step, you鈥檙e welcome to arrange an initial conversation. This gives you the opportunity to ask questions and get a sense of how it feels to talk together.

I offer a free 20-minute introductory call. It鈥檚 simply a chance to explore what鈥檚 been going on for you and to see whether working together feels like a good fit. There is no pressure to commit 鈥 just a space to begin.

My first session

During our first session, we take time to gently explore where you are at the moment and what has been bringing you to therapy. We also begin to think about what you hope might feel different over time 鈥 whether that鈥檚 individually or within your relationship. These intentions don鈥檛 need to be fully formed, and they can evolve as the work unfolds. The aim is simply to begin building a shared understanding and a sense of direction together.
